Nathan chuckled, "Everyone is welcomed at our event."
When Penny saw Nathan there, she couldn't help whispering, "Hubby, they are here to make fun of us. Why are you..."
Nathan gestured for Penny to remain calm. He had his ways of dealing with those bullies.
Hugh scanned the place before he grinned and said, "Nathan, why is your event so dull? Shouldn't you have at least invited some celebrities to come support it?"
Jenny couldn't stop herself from cussing, "You pretentious prick! You are the one who snatched all our guests and celebrities away.”
That insult didn't bother Hugh. He simply turned to Nathan and scoffed, "Nathan, you can't beat the Lindberg's. If you change your surname and bow down to our family, I promise I will get countless celebrities and reporters over for your event."
Nathan replied calmly, "There's no need for that. A lot of celebrities and reporters are already hurrying over, so we don't need your help."
Peter mocked, "Celebrities and reporters hurrying over? You're fooling yourselves."
Hugh remained polite and smile. "It's fine. I'd like to see how long you can remain stubborn. I'll play this game with you until you finally break."
That was when someone shouted from outside the hall. "The reporters are here!"
Penny and the others were delighted because they thought that those were the reporters that Nathan had brought over.
However, Penny and the others became stunned when they saw the reporter.
That wasn't a regular reporter. The reporter in question specialized in spreading rumors and humiliating his targets.
That reporter's nickname is Hound.
He was great at discovering other's private matters and secrets, so he was loathed by many.
Penny and the others were stunned instantly.
Hound had a microphone with him and had brought his photographer and assistant over.
He had his microphone pointed at Nathan and Penny as he asked loudly, "Penny Smith, is it true that your husband got drunk a few years ago and raped you? Our sources tell us that this is why you were pregnant before you got married and gave birth to your daughter, Queenie Smith."
Penny turned pale. She and Nathan had their history and they went through a lot.
But that was kept in private, so she never thought that the tabloids would get their hands on the information.
