Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1357

"M-Mayor, why are all of you here?"

Derek was terrified as he led his son and his men to greet the mayor.

But Russell didn't even look at Derek and pushed the latter away.

Russell strode towards Penny and said respectfully, "Ms. Smith, the city officials and I just got the news about your wedding with Mr. Cross today. We came immediately when we heard. Here's a small gift from us, please accept it."

As he spoke, the subordinate behind Russell quickly presented multiple gifts, all of them extremely expensive.

Penny quickly gestured for someone to receive the gifts and she thanked them gratefully, "Thank you. Thank you, Mayor and all officials for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend our wedding!"

Penny opened her mouth to ask Russell about Nathan's situation.

Since Nathan was arrested by the Secret Service, the answer she got every time she asked about him was that it's classified.

But before she even got her words out, a group of noble guests suddenly arrived.

Derek and his son along with Sean and Ferlyn were dumbfounded when they saw the guests.

It was Franklin Wilson, the Commander-in-chief of the military districts in Channing.

Franklin took out his gift and said with a grin, "Ms. Smith, I am here on behalf of the officers and soldiers of Channing military districts, wishing you and Mr. Cross a happy marriage."

Penny and her family were overwhelmed by the surprise.

Penny quickly said, "Thank you! Thank you, Commanding officer!"

Derek's heart was pounding like crazy as he stared in disbelief.

Another group of guests came at this moment. This time, it was the governor of the South, Patrick Ward.

Patrick led his group of subordinates and quipped, "I am the governor of the South, Patrick Ward. I heard that it's Mr. Cross and Ms. Smith's wedding and came uninvited. I'm welcomed here, aren't I, Ms. Smith?"

Of course!

Of course you're welcomed!

Penny and her family were starting to feel excited. The governor who could only be seen on TV normally was here for Penny and Nathan's wedding. It was a great honor!

Groups and groups of guests followed. All of them were respectable nobles and important members of society.

In the end, even those with the status of a mayor of Channing, like Russell Crow, didn't have seats anymore. They could only stand around as they chatted and laughed.
