Pow!
The devastating blow struck Marvin like an automobile ramming right into him at full speed. His ribcage was crushed with a loud crack and blood spewed out of his mouth in a gush. He tottered and finally dropped to the ground, dead.
As for Serpent, he was at the brink of breathing his last under Ava's mercy. She came closer and bent down toward him. “It's time I send you off. You shouldn't have looked down on women. You probably wouldn't end up like this if you knew this earlier.”
She raised her leg and in a thrust, her foot dug into his chest.
In a loud bang, Serpent's eyes opened wide before his heavy eyelids covered his eyes gradually. Blood started flowing out beneath his still body as Ava retracted her leg.
When Quent and Webb saw this, their legs gave way and they fell on the couch.
That's the end of us...
The members of the Dragon Snake Camp had all slumped to the floor. Some of them died, some of them were severely injured. None of them stood a chance against Nathan.
He stood above the defeated men like a victorious warrior. His voice shook the two unsettled men back to reality. “Any last words?”
Webb's heart skipped a bit at Nathan's beckoning. He felt as if his soul had left his body. He scrambled to the ground and went on his knees. “Please forgive me, General. Please spare me, I really shouldn't have done all this. Give me another chance, please!” he begged with tears in his eyes as he clung to Nathan desperately.
“Enjoy your time in hell!”
Webb could not believe his ears. Gloom hovered over his face when he heard his death sentence. A glimmer of craze shone in his eyes and he started mumbling hysterically. “Nathan Cross, who do you think you are? I'm the heir of the Goldstein family! You can't do anything to me! My family will kill you! Your family will be doomed!”
At this point, Webb still thought Nathan was just an empty husk with just a pathetic title left.
He thought Nathan would perish if his whole family went against him.
But little did he know, although Nathan was no longer the General of the North, he was the Chief Military Governor. He was second to none except for the President.
Nathan was not afraid of the Goldstein family, even when he was still the General of the North.
A smug smile carved on the corners of his lips at Webb's threat. “I see you're really living the last moments of your life. But sadly, your family means nothing to me, so you'd better shut that mouth of yours and stop all your threats. I don't care if you accuse me of anything actually. I might well have spared you if it was just me you targeted. But too bad for you, you messed with my wife. That itself is enough of a reason for me to end you right here and now.”
