Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1988

What?

The couple panicked once Yaacob said that.

Why is Director Donnovan is so protective of Nathan?

After all, Jaeden had worked his ass off to get to where he was today, so he could not let everything disappear in thin air.

Besides, he had hidden a lot of dark secrets as well, either in his career or his lifestyle.

Hence, if Director Donnovan wanted to pick on him, he would definitely find something.

Instantly, he begged, “Director Donnovan, I was wrong. My wife and I know that we were wrong and will willingly accept Mr. Cross' punishment.”

Likewise, Violet knew that their family's glorious days would be over if her husband lost his job.

She pleaded, “Yes, we will accept it. We will go to the field this instance.”

Soon, the couple hung signs around their neck that said - “Be a civilized person and be better parents.” Then, they stood under the flagpole pathetically as their punishment.

Although the students were attending lessons, a few classes were having physical education in the field.

When they saw Jaeden and his wife there, they were shocked.

Usually, the students who committed serious violations against the school rules would stand there to be punished.

While they would often see that, it was the first time they saw parents being punished there.

Thus, they could not help but gossip amongst themselves.

Even the teachers in charge of the physical education lessons exchanged confused looks. One of them, who knew Jaeden was, cautiously asked him, “Aren't you Mr. Winstead from the Ministry of Education? What are both of you doing here?”

Jaeden's face turned as red as a tomato - he and Violet wanted to flee in that instant.

Meanwhile, Nathan, Penny, the teachers, and those from the Ministry of Education were standing at the door of the discipline office, looking out at the school field. They witnessed the pitiful couple standing under the hot sun.

Yaacob politely probed, “Mr. Cross, since everything's in order, should I send both of you home first?”
