Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2009

The Khaiden family was influential in their territory, the West. No matter where he went, he had people gathered around him, anxious to gain his favor.

He did not expect to be insulted here in Brimmopolis.

His appetite for shopping effectively ruined, he gestured at his two bodyguards to leave.

Before he could turn around, a whiff of perfume met his nose.

Raida looked up sniffed at the air hopefully. Out of the corner of his eye, a figure approached him.

Sophia pretended not to have seen Raida and walked into him. “Ouch!” she squealed,

pretending to fall.

Raida shot out an arm and caught her around the waist. The feeling of caressing a feminine figure rendered him awestruck.

“Ms. Davier!”

Ms. Davier, are you all right?”

Her bodyguards rushed forwards and enquired anxiously.

Raida was suddenly aware that the figure in his arms is a beautiful woman.

She wore sophisticated makeup and carried herself like an heiress of unimaginable wealth. Furthermore, her luxurious elegance concealed a subtle flirtatious air.

Raida's eyes gleamed with desire.

He wanted to hold her in his arms for a little longer, but that may appear ungentlemanly and desperate.

Letting go of Sophia, he enquired politely “Are you all right, miss?”

“Pardon me, sir.” Sophia pretended to blush. “I wasn't aware of my surroundings earlier and knocked into you.” She giggled.

“It's nothing,” Raida said hurriedly. “All that matters is that you did not fall and hurt yourself. It'll be such a shame if a beauty like you hurt herself and had to bear the scars.”

Sophia's eyes shined.
