Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2168

Reno growled, “Stop acting innocent, Nathan Cross. Your mission is to play the role of the naval officer fighting against the pirate, but your fleet never showed up in the designated area. How can you say that you accomplished your mission?”

Nakajima reprimanded as well, “That's right. The rest of us are so psyched up to play the role of the pirate and rehearsing with your fleet. I never thought that you'd flee like a coward!”

Nathan chuckled and replied, “I didn't flee. I just didn't know that the rest of you are playing the role of the pirates. I honestly thought that my mission is solely to crush the pirates.”

Simone shouted, “Even so, you should've shown up in the designated area. You better have a good explanation as to why you're not here!”

Nathan grinned and replied, “I thought that fighting fake pirates is too easy, so I ventured a little further and did a quick ambush on a lair. I killed off some assassins and mercenaries. I even obliterated their lair and fought an actual battle.”

What?

Simone, Reno, and Nakajima were all stunned to hear Nathan's words.

Even Catherine couldn't help being secretly surprised.

Her intel told her that Clifford's underground lair was rather strong.

Who would've thought that Nathan would annihilate it so easily? Looks like they weren't bluffing when they call him the God of War. This man really is powerful.

Simone felt like everything was in a mess, and nothing was within his control.

He demanded angrily, “Nathan, you better give me a proper explanation of what exactly happened!”

Nathan then shared how he located the hidden lair of the number one felony in Eurasia and how he traveled over to apprehend Clifford. He also shared how he demolished Demon Corp.

Naturally, Nathan left out the part where Catherine provided him with the intel.

When Simone and the others heard the story, their eyes bulged so much that they almost popped.

That was especially true for Simone.

He knew all about Clifford. In fact, he had just sent an influential subordinate over to try to convince Clifford to join forces with Ariarica.

They wanted Clifford to provide the country with Eurasia's secrets.
