Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2240

After dealing with the bodyguards, Amos turned his attention to Deckard and Amelia.

Deckard got so terrified when Amos glared at him that he stuttered, “Hey, what... what are you trying to do? I... I'm warning you. You better stay away from me.”

Amelia tightened her grip on the man's arm as she was just as afraid as Deckard.

When Amos saw that, his heart was broken in two because he finally realized that Amelia had never loved him.

Amos wanted nothing more than to beat the two senseless and have Amelia return every cent he spent on her, but he knew that would not make him happy.

Not only was Amos disappointed in Amelia, but he was also giving up on love then.

Clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, Amos shouted, “If you ever disrespect my friends again, I’ll teach you a lesson you'll never forget. Now get out of my sight! Both of you! I never want to see you again.”

“Just you wait!” threatened Deckard before taking off.

“You're crazy!” Amelia too had to say something before scrambling away.

After the two left, the injured bodyguards quickly got on their feet and followed closely behind.

The place immediately fell dead silent when it was just Nathan, Amos, and the others again.

However, Colin decided that he could no longer stand the quietness. “Little Amos, why did you let them go? It was obvious that she had used you. And that man clearly needs to be taught a lesson. If I were you, I would've given them a beatdown!”

“What's doing that going to change? Can a beatdown turn back the clock?” responded Amos with a wry smile.

After wiping a drop of tear off his cheek, Amos turned to Nathan, still forcing a smile. “I'm sorry you had to see that, General. It's kind of stupid, isn't it? You just agreed to play matchmaker a few minutes ago, and now, I realized that she's not worth it.”

Nathan had a bunch of things he wanted to say to Amos, but somehow, all he could do in the end was sigh helplessly in front of the man.
