Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2254

Night fell, and the city lit up.

Because Queenie wanted to dine at Sally’s Seafood, Nathan decided to take his family out for a meal.

Nathan's original plan was to take his entire family.

Unfortunately, Leah's leg had yet to recover, so she declined the invitation.

Benson loved his wife too much to leave her alone at home, so he decided to stay with her. He told Nathan, Penny, and Queenie to go ahead with their dinner plan.

When Nathan heard that his parents-in-law were not joining them, he hesitated.

Leah smiled and said, “Go on.

Queenie loves to eat there. She has mentioned it several times. Nathan, now that you are back, do bring her there.”

Benson added, “That's right. It's only a meal. There’s nothing to worry about. Having our meal at home is no issue for us.”

When Nathan heard that, he went ahead with the dinner plan.

Benson prepared some dishes all by himself and sat down with his wife for dinner.

The couple might have been together for decades, but their feelings for each other had never gone away. On the contrary, their love for one another grew deeper, and they had become true soulmates!

Benson opened up a bottle of red wine and said cheekily, “Leah, although we may not be that young anymore, that doesn't mean we cannot enjoy a romantic night. Let’s have some wine.”

Leah might have been past her prime, but she still looked as attractive as ever. Enjoying a glass of wine with her husband reminded her of their younger days when they were dating. Her beautiful face blushed, and she said shyly, “Dear, what’s with you all of a sudden?”

Benson explained, “You have chosen me back then. It must have been difficult for you all these years. I will make it up to you in the future.”

Leah shook her head. “I knew what I was getting into when I chose you. But I love you, and I have no regrets.”

Upon hearing that, Benson's eyes teared up. He quickly wiped his tears away, raised his glass, and said to his wife, “Cheers!”

Just as they were about to drink their wine, they heard impatient knocking on the door.
