Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2255

Benson angrily barked, “Bowen, who do you think we are? Penny might be adopted, but we have always treated her like one of our own. She's no different from a biological daughter.

“You can't use money to measure everything in this world. If Penny is willing to acknowledge you as her father and leaves us to stay with you, we won't have any objection. But we will never agree to you using money to coerce and entice us to leave our daughter.”

Leah glared at Bowen. “You heard my husband. If you’re clear, then beat it.” Bowen grinned. “Penny has inherited my outstanding talent in the field of commerce. That was obvious from the way she managed the Cross Corporation. Because of her, you both get to live in luxury. I know ten million means nothing to you. I get that. If I'm in your shoes, I won't leave my cash cow of a daughter too for a meager ten million.”

He narrowed his eyes and continued, “However, I'm not here to discuss with you today or to ask for your permission. You can reject my terms now, but you'll agree to them in the end anyhow. If you don't vanish from my daughter's life willingly, I have other means of making you disappear. And you will disappear from this world entirely with my method.”

The couple's faces turned pale at the threat.

Bowen was giving them an ultimatum. They could either leave Penny's life willingly or die by his hands.

Angry at the threat, Benson retorted, “Why are you even giving us a choice? Isn't it easier for you to just kill us both?”

Bowen responded casually, “I need both of you to leave willingly so that my daughter can leave Eurasia with me without any lingering feelings. That way, she can start afresh in Eagleland. If I kill you, I'm worried it will upset her, then she won't leave with me readily or acknowledge me as her father. So, killing you is my last resort. The best-case scenario is you both leaving voluntarily. I hope you both know better and make the decision that will be a win-win situation for everyone. Don't force me to use my last resort.”

Benson inhaled a deep breath and rejected firmly, “We don't want your money, and we won't leave our daughter.”

Leah held her husband's hand tightly. “That’s right. Murder us, but our son-in-law won't let you get away.”

Son-in-law? Nathan Cross?
