Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2454

Nathan and Penny walked over.

Jett was bloody in the face as he lay sprawled on the ground. The triangular bayonet was still stabbed in his hand, and he looked miserable, to say the least.

He gritted out, “Nathan, you killed my mentor. I can't let you live after that!”

Nathan frowned.

On the other hand, Ava fumed. “You tried to attack our General, and now, you're spouting nonsense?” At that, she raised her foot to step on Jett before wrapping her hand around the handle of the triangular bayonet. Then, she slowly pulled it out.

Jett's face paled in response, but he continued to hurl insults at Nathan.

Staring at him, Nathan asked, “Who's your mentor?”

Jett replied loudly, “Layden Quillen! General Quillen!”

Having recognized Jett, Colin whispered to Nathan, “This guy is Jett Nightshire. He’s Colin's mentee, and he used to be in the army. He had excellent performance records, but he left the army later on.’

Oh, so he's Cay den's mentee.

Nathan then asked, “Does he have anything to do with Cayden's case? Was he guilty of any crimes?”

Colin replied, “Jett wasn't involved in any crimes in this case. Otherwise, he would have been arrested by now.”

Upon hearing that, Nathan's eyes trailed back to the injured Jett on the ground. He then coldly said, “You should know better than me what kind of mistakes your mentor has made. In fact, you can even say that he deserved this ending. If you think that I set your mentor up, feel free to report me instead of choosing an extreme way of taking revenge. Since you used to be in the army, I'll dismiss this as just a moment of your rashness. I won't hold you accountable for this. However, if you do this again, I won't let you off this easily again. Now scram.”

Nathan couldn't be bothered holding Jett accountable for the incident.

Having been spared, Jett abandoned his gun and scrambled off while holding onto his injured right hand.

He ran past the gossiping crowd and kept running until he entered a dirty and pungent alley.

Sorrow crashed onto him like a tidal wave, and he crouched beside the trash before he started bawling.

Jett felt useless that he had failed in avenging his mentor.
