Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2497

Having witnessed Destroyer's defeat of three of their own, the nerves of the Nine-Nation Alliance slowly but surely became untethered.

Many from among the members of the alliance then variously stepped forth to challenge Destroyer.

After twelve fighters from the opposite camp fell to Destroyer in a row, Fang and Heptakill, too, joined the fray. They decided to fight alongside Destroyer amidst concern that Destroyer might slip up.

With the downing of three more fearsome fighters by Fang and Heptakill, a total of thirty over fighters from the Nine-Nation Alliance had already been taken out on the trot before anyone realized.

At that time, even Max, Isaiah, Kenshun Aoki, among others, became extremely unsettled.

If unable to respond convincingly, we, the Nine-Nation Alliance, could find ourselves turned into a laughing stock, and with that, who would dare to rally around us to besiege Eurasia from there on out ?

Just when Isaiah and the others were preparing to join the fight themselves, Colin, too, came close to whisper into Nathan's ear, “The Volk army had amassed their forces and are currently on their way here, Chief Military Governor. Instructions have come from above for us to wrap this up promptly. We are to at least capture the representatives of the Nine-Nations as hostages in order to ensure our own safe passage from Volk back to Eurasia.”

With a raised hand, Nathan signaled that he had understood the message.

At this moment, the representative of Xyperia, Ashuras, was already beyond enraged. “How dare the three of you clowns monkey around before Ashuras. I shall personally claim your wretched lives for myself.”

“Why trouble yourself just to cull three dogs, Lord Ashuras? Such a task would be better left to me,” said Jetroina's commander Kenshun.

Isaiah, too, stepped forward. “There's no need for any of you to squabble over this. This is Volk's territory, and as master of this land, I cannot allow them to demonstrate such impudence before me. Do allow me to slay them.”

“Since the kids have already played enough, is it not time now for the big boys to have our fun?” said Nathan staidly. “With the responsibility of bringing the bodies of my fallen brethren home upon my shoulders, I have no desire to continue dawdling here. So come! Let us end this!

As Nathan spoke, he made his way steadily to the center of the battlefield with his sword by his side.
