Penny smiled and greeted Chance and the others. “Ariarica's threat to sanction us is unacceptable and against the law. I am also a victim like all of you. Therefore, I would attend this meeting no matter what. I am here in solidarity with you all to stand up against this bully.”
Can we stand up against Ariarica's sanction?
All the chairmen were stunned. They were impressed with Penny's boldness but also doubted whether they were able to oppose Ariarica.
While the other chairmen remained stunned, Chance stood up and clapped.
Since the chairmen looked to Chance for guidance, they quickly came out of their daze and clapped alongside him.
Their enthusiastic applause angered Jemma.
She glared at Penny and the company owners.
Then, she growled and said, “Are you rebelling? Penny, what makes you think you can stand up against Ariarica? If all of you refuse to cooperate, we shall issue the sanction order immediately. Then, your oversea businesses would be doomed.”
Jemma's words dashed the crowd's hope, sending them into silence and fear.
Chance and the others quickly looked at Penny.
Penny remained unintimidated in the face of the threat and replied with a smile, “Jemma, I know you have the backing of Ariarica. However, you forgot that the rest of us here have the support of Eurasia. I have faith that our country would not let you bully
US.
At this point, Penny turned to the crowd and said, “Mr. Fox and fellow esteemed chairmen. From what I know, the Cabinet send Zion Lucas to negotiate the matter with Jessica Pattison, Ariarica's Minister of Foreign Affairs. They will begin official negotiations tomorrow. Therefore, we should trust our country's leaders. Thus, before they complete the negotiation, we shouldn't rush into anything but wait patiently for the outcome.”
Penny took a deep breath before continuing, “I firmly believe in our country. We should act in accordance with what our country instructs us. I hope our country's leaders can help us resolve this problem. However, if they can't solve the problem and require us to sacrifice for the greater good, we shall do as our country needs. Such is the mentality that every entrepreneur should have.”
