Dip brightened up, but he couldn't help but wonder if Nathan would keep his word.
Franklin could tell what Dip was thinking about, and he snorted. “Did you hear the Chief Military Governor's words?”
Chief Military Governor?
Dip was stupefied.
Two years ago, Nathan was still the Commander-In-Chief of the North
Army. Thus, he had no idea Nathan was now the Chief Military Governor.
After the initial feeling of disbelief, he was overjoyed.
The Chief Military Governor wouldn't go back on his word.
He immediately thanked Nathan gratefully. “Thank you, sir. Don’t worry. I shall go all out so my descendants will have a bright future.”
Nathan said flatly, “Humans like to lie. I hope you won't disappoint me.”
With that, he waved and ordered, “Arrange for Mr. Turner to leave through the back door.”
Colin led Dip away to carry out the induction ceremony.
He switched on the camera to record Dip swearing before the flag, saying he was willing to join the military's intelligence department. As a member of the intelligence department, Dip's job was to gather intel regarding the country's enemies.
After recording his details, Dip was now officially a member of the intelligence department.
He was now a government official.
Thus, he would be rewarded and punished accordingly.
With this file, Dip wouldn't dare to betray them.
If Dip had the guts to betray them, the military would expose the file and announce he was a spy. That way, he would definitely die in Ariarica.
After completing the procedures, Colin brought Dip to the back door so the latter could leave.
Dip left as told.
Meanwhile, Franklin was drinking tea with Nathan in his office.
After refilling Nathan's cup in a respectful manner, Franklin asked curiously, “Sir, Dip's a sly fox. Is he really reliable? Why did you ask him to become a spy? Will he go back on his word after arriving in Ariarica?”
Nathan's lips curled into a smile. “No. His details have been recorded in Eurasia's intelligence department. We also have evidence that he tried to kill Princess Sofie. I believe he dare not play any tricks. Besides, he must be suffering in a foreign country. I'm certain he'll do the job well by providing us the intel we need.”
For the next few days, nothing happened.
Ariarica and its allies grew flustered.
They agreed to stop other countries from forming an alliance with Eurasia.
Thus, Ariarica decided to make a deterrence.
They dared not lay a hand on the vicious Remdik, and ended up targeting the weaker of the two— Valmora.
Max led an envoy team to Valmora. They hoped Valmora would join their alliance to go against Eurasia.
At the same time, he made a series of arrangements to force Valmora to cave into his demands.
One of them was to attack Cross Group's pharmaceutical factory in Valmora.
Nathan was shocked to find out that Ariarica wanted to attack Cross Group's factory in Valmora. He immediately contacted Penny to learn more about it.
Penny told him, “Our company did invest in building a large pharmaceutical factory in Valmora. The entire factory costs three hundred billion, and we've already invested one hundred billion as of now. If the factory gets attacked, we'll suffer from huge losses.”
Nathan frowned.
Right then, Sage's call arrived. “Chief, Valmora's envoy is here to see you. He said it's urgent.”
