Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2623

Colin led the Elite Eight and Felidae Battalion warriors to confront

Braydon and the rest.

Just as both sides were in a stalemate, Sage suddenly walked out of Indigo Palace.

When Colin saw Sage coming out, he asked, “What did Chief Cross say, General Tomlinson? Did he tell you to get rid of these nuisances?”

Sage shook his head. “Mr. Windsor, Chief Cross, and Mr. Lucas said that Mr. Goodall is allowed to get inside and make an arrest.”

Colin and the others had their eyes widened in disbelief. Braydon, who has chosen today of all days to make an arrest, is clearly being disrespectful to Mr. Windsor, Chief Cross, and Mr. Lucas, yet all of them agreed to let him in? They’re being too generous! They see only the bigger picture and are willing to accept Braydon's unreasonable behavior! Well, since they've already spoken, I have no choice but to let him in.

Unable to hold Braydon back, Colin then ordered the soldiers to let Braydon in.

Seeing that, Braydon smiled smugly as he tidied his suit, pushed his glasses up, and strolled past Colin with his head held high.

Braydon's assistant was his younger brother, Sigurd Goodall.

Sigurd was a beast of a man, and he looked incredibly intimidating.

At the moment, he was leading the other members to catch up with his older brother.

When he walked past Colin and Sage, he smiled widely and said mockingly, “I told you all to let us pass, but you wouldn’t listen. Now that your master has spoken, you watchdogs can do nothing but step aside. You all shouldn't have blocked our path in the first place. Hahaha...”

The expressions of Colin, Sage, and the others darkened. The soldiers behind them were so furious that their eyes were filled with murderous intent.

However, Sigurd pretended as if he saw nothing and joyously followed his brother into the banquet hall with his men in tow.

Colin stared at the Goodall brothers and spoke in suppressed rage. “Those two better not fall into my hands in the future, or else they'll be in a world of pain.”

Sage patted his shoulder and comforted, “Don't worry, brother. You'll get your chance.”

Braydon led Sigurd and the others into the banquet hall.

When he stepped in, he saw Hansel, Nathan, Zion, and the others.

On top of that, he also saw a bunch of people glaring at him in fury.

However, that didn't faze him at all as he appeared composed.

Therefore, he wasn't afraid of anyone at the banquet, including the previous president, the current Chief Military Governor, and the cabinet secretary. He smiled at Hansel and looked the latter in the eye. "I'm here to fulfill my mission, Mr. Windsor. Since you have allowed me to make an arrest, I'll be doing so now.”

Hansel held his head high as he said, “You can arrest anyone as you please, but you better make sure you have enough evidence to warrant that arrest. Don't you dare slander a good person.”

Nathan added, “You better not lie when you claim you're here to arrest someone for suspected corruption, Braydon. If you’re here for any other nefarious purpose, I can assure you that you and the person you work for will regret it.”

Braydon smiled. “You're overthinking, Chief Cross. I'm simply here to arrest a suspect. As for the person I work for, I don't have one. I work for the country.”

Zion sneered, “Stop pretending to make yourself look noble. I wonder, why didn't I ever notice you're such an arrogant brat? As the cabinet secretary, I can tell you now that I don't like your work style, and I seriously doubt your work capability. Tomorrow, I’ll have a discussion in the cabinet meeting as to whether you should be fired!”

The moment he said that, many people's eyes glimmered with anticipation.

Braydon had intentionally chosen such an inappropriate time and place to make an arrest. He was practically disrespecting the former president and the Chief Military Governor by coming to the banquet to arrest someone. Even after Nathan had tried to talk him down, he still refused to budge.

Therefore, everyone was mad at Braydon, which was why they got excited when they heard Zion telling Braydon to his face that the latter would be fired the next day.

Everyone shared the same sentiment. Mr. Lucas is domineering! By the time tomorrow rolls around, Braydon's career will be over! He'll be crying like a baby, and he'll regret his actions!
