It was rare for Zion to show his domineering side. When Nathan saw Zion assert dominance over Braydon, he turned to Braydon and looked at the latter with intrigue. I wonder if Braydon's regretting his decision now.
To his surprise, Braydon was completely fearless.
Braydon remained composed and even curled his lips upward into a mysterious smile before uttering something shocking. “If you don't like my work style and doubt my abilities, feel free to discuss my dismissal at the cabinet meeting tomorrow. I have no objections to that. However, if you want to fire me, you'll first have to be able to make it to the meeting tomorrow.”
Everyone stared at him in shock. What? What does he mean?
Even Zion himself was shocked. He laughed. “That's ridiculous. What makes you think I won't be able to make it to the cabinet meeting tomorrow?”
Braydon smiled, and then pulled out a warrant and unrolled it for Zion to see.
Braydon then read aloud the content written on the warrant as Zion stared at him in disbelief. “Zion Lucas, the Integrity Department's Special Investigation Unit has discovered that you’re suspected to be involved in several cases of corruption. Additionally, we found out that your family has been accepting illegal gifts from other people. I've already reported my findings to Mr. Holmes, and Mr. Holmes has received the president's approval for your arrest. Please follow me to assist the investigation. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be recorded and served as evidence in court. You can choose to leave with us willingly, or I can ask my men to take you away by force. Which would you
prefer?”
Zion looked as though he had been struck by lightning. His body shook, and he almost fell.
Nathan and Hansel furrowed their eyebrows.
The people present had a shocked expression on their faces. So, the person Braydon is going to arrest today is Mr. Lucas!
When Zion saw Hansel's disappointed look, he returned to his senses and roared, “This is slander! I'm not involved in any corruption! You're trying to frame me, aren't you? Did
Erwin send you over to mess with me?"
Braydon uttered coldly, “I have proof of your crime, Zion. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here.”
Zion demanded in fury, “You have proof? Show me the so-called proof then!”
Braydon replied, “I will, but you need to follow us back to our unit first.
Only then will we show it to you. In fact, we'll even show it to the public, but you have to come with us now.”
Zion's expression darkened as he stared at the warrant in Braydon's hand. He gritted his teeth. “Fine! I'll go with you, but there's no way I'm going to let you frame me.”
Braydon smiled and ordered his men, “Cuff him and take him away!”
