Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2670

Although the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor was now secure, an intense battle was still raging over at the White House.

In the courtyard in front of the study room in the White House, Garrett sat weakly on a chair while listening to the sound of gunshots coming from a distance.

He asked weakly, “Harlen, how's the battle looking?”

Harlen Simpson was the Captain of the National Guard who was serving Hansel.

Bending down, Harlen was about to whisper in Hansel's ear when a loud cheer erupted outside.

Harlen was dumbstruck.

Seconds later, they saw a royal guard running toward them from the outside.

The soldier was covered in blood, but he couldn't hide his excitement.

He ran toward Garrett and saluted before saying excitedly, “Good news! I have good news! Chief Cross has entered the battlefield personally. Like a god descended from heaven, he charged into the enemies and decimated them. Moments ago, Chief Cross single-handedly killed Xavion and Titus. Now, the rebel troops are retreating!”

Harlen and the others were elated upon hearing that.

Garrett, on the other hand, finally smiled. However, he looked deathly pale at that moment.

Right then, another royal guard rushed in and yelled, “There's another piece of good news, President Woods! Elijah, the commander-in-chief of the East, Zach, the commander-in-chief of the South, Fang, the commanderin-chief of the North, and Lucas, the commander-in-chief of the West, have arrived along with their hundred thousand troops each. They are currently surrounding Brimmopolis. Now, the rebel troops are trapped! If they don't surrender, they're all going to die.”

Harlen was delighted. “Great! That's great! Luckily, Chief Cross planned ahead. Otherwise, our backup wouldn't have arrived on time. Now, Erwin, Will, and the others are doomed. President Woods, did you hear that? We're out of danger! President Woods? President Woods—”

He suddenly noticed that Garrett was no longer moving. Despite shouting at him a few more times, Garrett remained unresponsive.

Harlen was shocked. He then quickly went to check on Garrett and realized that the latter was no longer breathing.

“President Woods!” Harlen and the others yelled in despair.

Outside the White House, the rebel troops were running away frantically.
