Nathan stood in front of Colin and lifted his right foot to send a powerful and lightning-quick kick.
Boom!
Nathan's kick smashed the pillar into smithereens.
After that, he dusted his black boots before gradually putting his leg down. While standing pridefully, he ordered Colin and the rest coldly, “Stand back. Let me deal with him.”
Having just escaped death, Colin came back to his senses and replied, “Understood!” At that point, he was sweating bullets.
Hepburn, Daveth, and Betty quickly brought the terrified bishops and Holy Knights away.
Herod stood there with his hands behind his back and gazed at Nathan haughtily. “You don't have the aura of a member of the Curia. You're not one of them, are you? Apart from the members of the Curia, I haven't seen a human being with your combat prowess. You're definitely a genius. Even if I don't kill you, you'll only live a mortal life. From a vampire's perspective, the amount of life you get to live is too short. Why don't you serve me instead? Perhaps I would give you a drop of the purest form of vampire ancestral blood. I can turn you into a noble vampire of the new generation. By then, not only will you have immortality, but you will also achieve great things with me. What do you think?”
Hepburn and the rest of the members of the Curia were stunned when they saw Herod trying to recruit Nathan.
However, Nathan was still as cool as a cucumber. He answered, “Since when have you seen a king begging or a god of war kneeling? I would rather live an upright life for a century than be your slave for a millennium. Besides, I don't even think you're that strong.”
Herod was infuriated by Nathan's words.
“Since you choose to be ignorant, I shall send you down to hell!” Herod roared.
With that, he swung his arms in the air.
In an instant, what seemed like a thunderstorm came Nathan's way.
Moments prior, a grabbing motion from Herod was strong enough to break the pillar.
At that moment, when he waved both his arms in the air, countless ghostly red hands appeared in the sky and dashed toward Nathan.
Colin, Hepburn, and the rest couldn't help but yell, “Be careful!”
Nathan merely snorted and placed his right hand on the hilt of The Unsullied before shutting his eyes.
