A clone?
Struck with a sudden realization, Nathan spun around and scanned the area for Max. However, the latter was already long gone.
At that moment, the two Gods of Warrior of the Seven Continents and Apollyon warriors were also thinking of sneaking away.
Nathan's expression turned grim. “No wonder this Patriarch's powers seem rather lackluster. It turns out he's only a clone. I can't believe Max took the chance to flee. In any case, the rest of you can forget about leaving.”
With that, he darted forward, moving so swiftly that he appeared as a blur, and began hunting down the vampires.
Returning to their senses, Hepburn and the others joined the fray, pursuing and killing those running away.
Half an hour later, most of Max's subordinates were beheaded. Only a few managed to escape.
Meanwhile, it was utter chaos outside Golden Sand Hotel.
When the reporters saw Catherine and the rest shrieking while dashing out of the hotel, their first thought was that there had been an attack at the Eight-Nation Alliance's summit.
They only discovered later that vampires had shown up.
In the end, Hepburn appeared as a representative of the Curia to explain the situation to the reporters, and that was how they finally learned that Max was actually a vampire.
On top of that, they also found out he had wanted to seize the opportunity during the summit to turn the other countries' representatives into vampires.
Fortunately, the Curia had received word of the plan and taken measures to prepare for such an occurrence, thus saving Catherine and the others.
The reporters were dumbfounded.
What the Curia's Holy Maiden just revealed is just too shocking. Max, the Five-star General from Ariarica, is actually a vampire! What's more, he wanted to turn Catherine and the other nations' representatives into vampires too! What on earth was Max thinking? Did he intend to turn all those influential figures from various countries into vampires so he could sow the seeds for some secret motive? Could it be that the vampires are plotting an uprising and planning to replace humans as the new masters of Earth?
The thought of that terrified them.
