Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 3132

Overnight, Nathan summoned the Cabinet members and those from the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor to hold an emergency meeting.

They were busy discussing how to handle the aftermath and compensate the soldiers' families when Eugene IV's call arrived.

He called to inform Nathan that all bishops and Holy Knights from the Curia had been dispatched to fight against the vampires.

Nevertheless, things were still going downhill.

Nathan had experience killing a vampire prince and vampire earls, so Eugene IV hoped he could step out to fight the vampires.

Eugene IV even used an ancient Eurasia proverb to persuade Nathan to take action.

“If you don't take action, Mr. Cross, what will happen to the people? When a bird's nest is overturned, no egg can remain intact. If the vampires gain control of most of Adrune and continue to grow stronger, they will soon march on to conquer Aploth,” Eugene IV warned. “Please take action now, Mr. Cross!”

Nathan held his phone and fell silent for a long while. “Eurasia's Peacekeeping Forces were also killed by the vampires. I'm still mourning their deaths, so please give me some time to consider your request,” he said.

With that, he ended the call.

Zion spoke up. “Dozens of countries on good terms with us in Adrune called and asked us to provide reinforcements. It looks like the vampire outbreak is a global disaster.”

Zach nodded. “As a powerful country, we cannot stand idly by while humans are threatened. However, I don't believe that President Cross needs to personally go there and risk his life.”

Lucas agreed, “Yes. We have plenty of capable soldiers. President Cross, you cannot risk your life. This time, I shall lead an army to fight the vampires in Adrune!”

“Let me take the lead for once,” Elijah cut in. “You've always been in the spotlight, so it's my turn to shine now. I'll be the one to bring my troops to Adrune.”

Everyone gaped in shock and immediately tried to persuade him to change his mind.

Nathan raised an arm to stop them. “I know I'm the President, but don't forget that I'm still Eurasia's God of War,” he reminded them firmly. “Just because I hold this position, it doesn't mean I'm done fighting. I've faced off against elite vampires more times than I can count, and I've even taken down a vampire prince. I have more experience than any of you. And from both a professional and personal standpoint, I'm the most suitable candidate to lead our troops and help Adrune defeat the vampires.”

Zach and the rest cried out, “President Cross!”

Nathan turned to Zion, Zach, and the rest. “Your responsibility is to guard our homeland and keep the vampires at bay.”

Zion blurted out, “But—”

“No buts,” Nathan said firmly. “I've made up my mind. No amount of convincing can change my mind. I'll select a team of elites to follow me to Adrune. Quality matters more than quantity this time. Those who are interested can volunteer. I'll make my selection carefully.”
