Even though Lux's punch and Max's kick seemed to happen at the same time, there was still a slight discordance in the timing.
Taking advantage of the almost negligible difference in time, Nathan first raised his fist and met Lux's punch with one of his own.
Boom!
In an instant, deafening roars of thunder reverberated in the air.
The surrounding walls collapsed into pieces.
Lux was sent backward by Nathan's punch, much to his surprise. Nonetheless, he did not stumble too far backward. He quickly stabilized himself and regained his battle form.
Just as Nathan sent a fist in Lux's direction, he immediately lifted his leg and aimed his foot at Max's leg.
Boom!
Another thunderous explosion was heard as Nathan's leg collided with Max's in mid-air.
As strong as Max was, he could not help but stumble a few steps backward before regaining his balance.
Both Lux and Max had a grave expression on their faces.
Nathan's movements were as smooth as a gliding river. From his punch, then his kick, one could tell that he was in full control of his movements. It was not hard to deduce that Nathan was insanely skillful when it came to combat.
Lux finally understood why Max had lost to Nathan again and again as well as why Vivien could be killed by Nathan.
Nathan was truly too powerful.
At that moment, Lux realized that killing Nathan that night would not be an easy feat. In fact, there would be a possibility that they might be trapped instead.
Lux growled, “Max, I've never seen such power before. Let's not hold back and unleash all of our hidden talents. Otherwise, tonight might be our last.”
“Okay!” Max replied.
The two vampire princes quickly resume their battle formation.
A line formed between his brows. Just as he was about to summon the security guards and inquire of them what was going on, hurried footsteps could be heard from outside the door.
In came Hepburn the Holy Maiden in a frenzy.
When Hepburn saw Eugene IV, she quickly informed him of the situation in a panicked tone, “Pope Eugene, there's been trouble! Vampires are attacking! Vampire princes, Lux and Max, appeared at the same time. They're attacking Mr. Cross and Mr. Welz at Sunburst Hospital as we speak! Many were severely injured or sacrificed at Sunburst Hospital. The situation is extremely dire.”
Eugene IV shot up from his seat in shock and fury upon receiving the news. “What? Those nasty creatures dared to enter Salinsburgh? How dare they ambush the headquarters of the Curia! They must be crazy to do so! Go! Gather all the elders, War Gods of the Light, and Holy Guardians. Send reinforcements to Sunburst Hospital this instant!”
“Understood!” Hepburn replied.
At the same time, several kilometers away, the temporary headquarters of the alliance were alerted about the situation as well.
Leopold, the deputy commander of the alliance on duty, immediately gathered the Gods of War of over a hundred countries in full urgency.
Dashing out of his office, Leopold hopped into a military jeep without hesitation before shouting out commands, “Go! Go! Go! Set forth immediately! Commander Cross needs help!”
Countless military jeeps and trucks took off from the temporary headquarters and headed straight for Sunburst Hospital without wasting even a second.
