The War Gods from various nations led their troops to return to the alliance temporary headquarter.
The place was adorned with bright lights and colorful decorations, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.
The human alliance had defeated the vampires and reclaimed the vampire-occupied territories. Hence, they wanted to hold a grand celebration ceremony. The War Gods and the head of various nations would be attending the event.
After defeating the vampires and regaining the vampire-occupied lands, the reconstruction of these areas, as well as how to carry them out, would definitely become a point of contention.
After all, every country has made significant efforts in the battle against the vampires.
When it came to sharing the rewards of success, no one wanted to be shortchanged.
Meanwhile, Wolfric was at his office in the alliance temporary headquarter.
He was chatting and drinking champagne with a group of close War Gods, including Eiken and Tyrell.
Tyrell complimented, “The alliance's victory this time owes much to Mr. Welz's contributions.”
Wolfric, who was known for being thick skin, couldn't help but blush slightly. He was aware that he had made no notable contributions to this battle. Nathan was the one who led them to victory.
He felt ashamed to claim that his contributions were significant.
Eiken added, “Now that the vampire-occupied territories have been reclaimed, Nathan took advantage of his position as the commander-in-chief of the alliance and agreed to let Dido restore Wallera. He even supported the puppet queen to ascend to the throne. How could they do that? They're not taking you seriously at all, Mr. Welz.”
Tyrell also said, “Exactly! This is Adrune; Nathan is doing is clearly infiltrating our territory.”
Eiken added, “That's right, Nathan has overstepped his bounds. Everyone knows this is Ariarica's backyard. Mr. Welz, we shouldn't let Nathan have his way.”
Wolfric swirled his wine glass gently and smiled. “He won't get his way. I've already sent someone to find Dido and instruct her to sever ties with Nathan and join us instead. She wouldn't dare refuse my terms!”
As soon as Wolfric finished speaking, Rawlinson entered the room looking uneasy.
As he spoke, he gradually calmed down and was no longer angry. He held his wine glass once again and said flatly, “Tell me the details.”
He did not seem to blame Rawlinson for his incompetence anymore.
Even he would have a headache when dealing with Nathan.
Dido would be fearless if Nathan was present. Hence, it would be natural for Rawlinson to be unable to subdue Dido.
Rawlinson heaved a sigh of relief when Wolfric didn't punish him. He then proceeded to recount the events, embellishing the story as he went along.
He deliberately skipped over the part where they drove through the checkpoint, causing fatalities, and went straight to the part where they were intercepted by Thomas in a tank. He lamented about how they were humiliated by Thomas and Nathan.
In the end, he was choked with sobs. “Admiral Welz, Nathan's insults were just too much to bear. Dido is also an ungrateful wretch hopelessly devoted to Nathan. Please avenge our fallen comrades, Admiral Welz. We must make Nathan and his men pay dearly!”
Upon hearing this, Wolfric flew into a rage. “Nathan is such an arrogant man. I must settle the score with him this time. I absolutely cannot let him get away with this easily. Keep an eye on Nathan for me. Notify me immediately when he returns!”
