Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 3386

Eugene IV spoke calmly. “Although the human alliance has defeated the vampires, the remnants have fled to the mountains and forests, disappearing without a trace, but as far as I know, several vampire princes are still alive. So are half of the clan's elite members. Their strength remains intact, so they can retaliate at any moment. Moreover, despite Herod's death, I heard they have elected a new king.”

Hepburn exclaimed in shock, “What? Is that true?”

Eugene IV said, “The information should be accurate.”

Hepburn asked, “Who is the new king of the vampires? Was he chosen from among the surviving princes?”

Eugene IV shook his head. “I don't know. Our people aren't able to identify the new king's identity, but recently, I've heard something on the grapevine.”

Hepburn questioned, “What kind of rumors?”

Eugene IV said, “After the great war, the alliance captured many bondslaves. Based on some of their confessions, Nathan had ventured into the vampire's headquarters alone back then. Posing as a warrior, he challenged Herod. His audacity stirred a huge commotion. Thousands of thunderbolts streaked across the sky. No one could interfere in the duel between him and the king. Moreover, in the end, Nathan successfully slew Herod. Naturally, he became the new king of the vampires.”

Hepburn's face turned grim. She couldn't hold back her emotions and yelled, “Absurd! Such foolish remarks! The people spreading these rumors are either stupid or malicious. Mr. Cross led the alliance, personally slaying countless King-Class vampires. He even executed the Patriarch, Herod, with his own hands. He is indeed a great hero of humanity. I can still remember clearly when he stepped into Eternal Darkness beneath the Dark Canopy, resolutely marching toward his death to duel with Herod. Now that we've defeated the vampires, some scoundrels dared to harbor ulterior motives and slandered and defamed our hero. I won't let those who defame Mr. Cross get away scot-free!”

Eugene IV was actually aware of Hepburn's feelings toward Nathan. If it weren't for the fact that Nathan was already in a relationship, given Hepburn's personality, she would likely pursue him even if it meant going against the grain and courting him.

Eugene IV had expected her strong reaction.
