Meanwhile, inside the reception room of the White House, Baccio was pacing back and forth anxiously with his hands clasped behind his back.
A few cardinals and elders of the Curia were standing nearby with varied expressions on their faces.
This time, they were here in Eurasia on the pope's orders to have Nathan release the captives.
The Curia had received word that the three Demigods from Helios got captured by Nathan after running into some trouble in Eurasia.
As it turned out, their highly-intelligent spaceship tried to save the three Demigods after they got captured, but to no avail. The spaceship then sent a distress signal to the Curia before automatically returning to the Divine Realm.
Upon learning that the three War Gods had encountered trouble in Eurasia, Eugene IV became restless and immediately sent Baccio to retrieve them from Eurasia.
“Why isn't he here yet? Why isn't he here yet?”
Right as Baccio was growing impatient, footsteps could be heard from outside.
Moments later, Nathan entered the room with a few of his subordinates.
Nathan's lips curled into a faint sneer when he saw how anxious Baccio looked.
“What brings you back to Eurasia, Mr. Baccio? You didn't give me a heads up before coming over, so I wasn't prepared to receive you,” Nathan said with a chuckle.
Baccio actually calmed down when he saw Nathan.
He quickly stepped forward to exchange a few pleasantries with Nathan, and they both took their seats.
“Mr. Cross, I heard that your country, Eurasia, has discovered the mysterious extraterrestrial object that space agencies around the world have recently been concerned about. Moreover, you have launched missile attacks on this mysterious extraterrestrial object. You fired three anti-aircraft missiles at it, right?”
Naturally, he couldn't possibly hand the three Demigods over to the Curia.
Moreover, the Curia had no right to order Eurasia around and arrogantly demand they hand over their captives.
Nathan stood up and said in a cold and detached voice, “I believe I have made myself very clear. Eurasia has not discovered any mysterious extraterrestrial objects, nor have we captured any mysterious individuals. There, I've said my piece. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere else to be. Goodbye.”
Nathan was about to leave after saying that, but Baccio was not about to let him do so.
“Hold it right there!” he said coldly, growing serious all of a sudden.
Nathan paused in his tracks and turned around to look at Baccio.
Baccio's gaze was icy cold, and he was determined to stand his ground. “I know you've become a vampire, Nathan. And not just any vampire, either. You're the newly crowned king of the vampires. The Curia did not want to expose that fact out of respect for our mutual relationship. However, if you refuse to hand those three mysterious individuals over to us today, then we will reveal your true identity and get the entire world to eliminate you.”
