Honestly, everyone knew it would be impossible for Sharon to patch things up with Penny after what she had done.
But Penny was about to give in to Sharon's request again due to the pathetic look she had on her face.
After all, Sharon used to be one of her close friends. They would spend most of their time together after school back in the day, and the duo would share everything they had with one another.
Even though Sharon had betrayed her, Penny couldn't possibly leave her be when she knew what was in store for her.
Once again, Penny turned to Nathan with a pleading look and whispered, "Nathan, can we do her a favor?"
To be frank, Nathan didn't mind since it wasn't a huge sum.
However, Sharon went overboard previously and insulted Penny in front of everyone. She even tried to recruit their employees on Blue Sky Corporation's
behalf.
Therefore, Nathan was determined to teach Sharon a lesson. Otherwise, other employees of the company might repeat the same mistake and attempt to betray them in the future.
The man gave it a thought for a few minutes before he shot daggers at Sharon, who was on her knees, and asked in an icy tone, "How much do you need?"
Since Nathan was willing to give her another chance, Sharon replied hurriedly, "I'll be able to gather most of the required sum by liquidating my assets. I need another five million!"
"We'll allow you to advance your allowance to settle the debt. Your annual remuneration remains five hundred thousand per annum. Hence, ten years' worth of advance payment will be credited to you. If that's the case, you'll have to work for Cross Group until you have cleared off the debt you have with us. You shall never defy any instructions from the company. Am I clear?"
"Yes! No problem!" Sharon agreed without any hesitation.
"You may head over to the financial department to get your advance payment.
When the employees of Cross Group passed by Sharon's office occasionally, they would cast a contemptuous gaze at her and remind themselves not to commit such a foolish mistake.
In the meantime, Penny and Nathan were having their lunch in the president's office.
Penny's office had a wall made of a oneway mirror. In short, she would be able to monitor the situation outside her office. However, those that were outside of her office wouldn't be able to do so.
Currently, she had her eyes glued to the transparent room outside. Since Penny noticed countless subordinates of hers looking at Sharon like an animal in the zoo, she asked Nathan, "Don't you think we have gone slightly overboard?"
Nathan asked Penny in a flat tone, "Really? Why does it feel like it's not enough to teach her a lesson? By right, she has to spend her time behind bars since she has betrayed the company by smuggling confidential information on behalf of our foes."
"However, we dismissed her of her legal responsibility and allowed her to keep her position. In fact, we have even given her the required sum to pay off her debt. I don't think there's any other company that would treat a traitor with such courtesy."
Halfway through his speech, Nathan took a glance at Sharon and went on, "She was the one who tried to betray you. Besides, she tried to recruit your most trusted aide for our nemesis. There were even some of them who were ready to make a move. If I don't make an example out of her, I'm afraid no one will respect us in the future.”
