Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 789

In the Cote family study room.

Charlus was still awake, waiting for David's good news. What he did not expect was to receive bad news instead.

Apparently, David had successfully smashed up Jade Hotel. Unfortunately, the police had responded in record time, arresting them all.

To Charlus' disgruntlement, David had immediately ousted him as the mastermind behind this event. The other man had even outrightly told the police that he had hired him to kill the Crosses.

With this confession, the nature of this case changed.

The magnate of the tourism and F&B industry in Glyngarth, Charlus Cote, was now suspected of hiring an assassin to murder someone. The authorities had expressed their solemn determination to handle this case strictly and carefully.

It was starting to look more and more like Charlus would be jailed for his crimes.

Panicking, he called Jay for help.

Jay calmly answered, "What you did was no laughing matter. If you can obtain Nathan Cross'forgiveness and he lets you off the hook, nothing will happen to you. However, if you fail to get him to forgive you and he wants to hold you accountable, you'll most likely end up in prison."

Charlus grimaced and pleaded, "Please tell me what I can do, Mr. Governor!"

"Oh Charlus, some things will blow over as long as you're willing to bow your head. Sometimes, it doesn't pay to be stubborn!"

After that, Jay said he was tired and hung up.

Charlus was rooted to the spot as he stared at his phone dumbly.

The meaning behind the governor's words was clear. He wanted him to beg for mercy from Nathan!

For the rest of the night, Charlus tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep as thoughts churned in his head. By morning, he was still unable to find another solution. Left without a choice, he brought some men with him and headed for Jade Hotel.
