Edric blushed as sweat dripped down from his forehead, making him appear extremely pathetic.
When Penny saw that Edric had been taught a lesson, she tried to patch the situation up. "Haha! I'm sure that Edric wasn't aware that the wine was fake. Otherwise, he'd definitely refused to have it served to us."
Almost immediately, Edric nodded profusely. "Yeah! The hotel's procurement department must have made a mistake, allowing these counterfeit wines to enter our hotel."
"I'll definitely deal with this matter seriously!"
After speaking, he summoned the waiters quickly to bring the fake wine away, changing it to a regular Merlot wine.
Penny, Nathan, Kylie, and the rest exchanged glances, revealing meaningful smiles.
All the expensive red wines in the hotel were probably fake. Edric must have known about this.
Otherwise, after bringing this bottle of fake wine away, he could have replaced it with a bottle of real Romanee-Conti.
Since Edric did not dare to ask the waiter to serve them a bottle of Romanee-Conti, it proved that the bottles of red wine in the hotel were all fake.
After discovering that Edric had tried to trick everyone with fake wine, Penny and the rest looked down upon him even more.
Edric poured everyone a glass of wine again, including Nathan.
He was slightly fearful, already. Although he resented Nathan, he did not dare to disrespect him so evidently.
Naturally, he knew that the fake wine incident had completely marred Penny's impression of him.
He thought of how to salvage the situation, in an attempt to re-establish a charismatic image for Penny. Otherwise, he would have had zero chances of obtaining Penny's beauty for himself.
Just as he was toasting to everyone, trying to think of a way to restore his reputation, the door was suddenly kicked open with a huge bang.
Immediately, eight imposing men in suits strode into the room. The leading man had a goatee.
He narrowed his eyes and announced coldly, "We're here to take Ms. Smith away. Please leave with us.”
