Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 88

Soon, everyone had gotten themselves a drink and found a place to sit.

Felix gave John a pointed look which he had immediately understood. He grinned at Penny and apologized, "Penny, you know how I am. I was rash with my words earlier, so I want to apologize."

Penny and Nathan were sitting next to each other. She calmly answered, "I didn't take it to heart."

John continued, "That's good. And you can't really blame me. I just feel like you deserve more."

"You were the prettiest girl at Channing University and now you're the CEO of a company. And yet you're married to such a useless bum."

"You know what I think? I think only someone as tall, as handsome, and as wealthy as Mr. Felix is worthy of you."

Everyone fell silent when they heard John's words.

Felix was smiling and looking at Penny affectionately, not bothering to hide his intentions towards her.

Penny was secretly quite protective of Nathan. After seeing John insult him repeatedly, she had gotten so angry, nearly losing her temper.

But Nathan took hold of her hand to calm her down, letting her know that she did not need to get into it with them.

Nathan spoke up, "Penny, this gathering seems quite uninteresting. If there's nothing else, why don't we go home early and rest?”

Felix became anxious when he saw that Nathan and Penny had intended to leave.

He had plans forthat night, so he absolutely could not have allowed Penny to leave so early.

If she left, how was he supposed to win her over?

And so, he hurriedly turned to Penny.

"Penny, don't leave so quickly. I remember back in university, you really liked classical music and you practically idolized the pianist Quinn."
