ELISE'S POV

I sat on the edge of bed. My heart pounded loudly in my chest as Ferris’ personal attendant switched on the TV.

I swallowed hard, trying to calm my fast beating heart. Ferris and I had been so close. Our faces and lips were inches apart. I could still feel his breath on our lips. The moment between us was so intense that I could hear both our heart beats. Sadly, there was a knock on the door.

I almost groaned out loud due to the interruption Now that I thought about it, I wondered what it would feel like to kiss Ferris. I wondered how his lips would taste. I bet they taste just as good as they look The attendant fumbled with the TV remote, changing the channels.

"What exactly is the problem?" Ferris asked him. "I wouldn't be able to explain it to you, your highness. It's better you see for yourself" I stared at him in shock. What could be so important? From his tone, it sounded like it was something important. The attendant stopped on a particular channel.

To my surprise, Jackson appeared on the screen. The sight of Jackson once made me happy. I was so eager to be with him, to please him. Now, the sight of him made my stomach turn in a bad way.

I couldn't believe he wanted to hurt me today. I watched as he stood before the press. His expression was stern and composed. It seemed like he was doing some sort of interview. I wondered what it was for. The last I checked, he didn't have any schedule with the press. I was the one usually in charge of planning his daily activities.

"Today, I am officially dropping Elise as my Luna," Jackson announced. His voice was devoid of any emotion.

"She is incompetent and has broken pack rules. Gina, her sister, will be the new Luna, and she'll make a better Luna than Elise ever could."

"What the -" Ferris mumbled. "It gets much worse" the attendant said.

"What exactly did Luna Elise do?" one of the press members asked him.

"Do not refer to her like that!" Jackson snapped "She isn't worthy to bear the title. She's a disgrace. She should never have been queen"

"Are you saying you regret the marriage?"

"Yes, I did. Elise betrayed me. She betrayed us all. But do not worry, Gina will step up to the challenge. I want you all to accept her and help her with everything she needs"

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. In that moment, it felt like the world had stopped.
