Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 1708

Chapter 1708

Mrs. Lewis, who was in the living room outside the ward, answered the door.

The door was open, and there was a bodyguard.

“Ms. Liberty is here again, ma’am.” The bodyguard reported to Mrs. Lewis.

Mrs. Lewis did not have a chance to answer as Duncan’s keen ear picked up on the announcement from inside the ward.

No longer keeping a straight face, he shouted, “Tell her to leave.

I don’t want to see her! Tell her never to come back to the hospital! She can get lost for all I care!” Following Mr. Duncan’s resounding yell, the bodyguard sighed to himself.

Mr. Duncan had behaved as such every time Ms. Liberty came by.

Only Ms. Liberty was capable of invoking such emotions from Mr. Duncan.

Any dummy could tell that Ms. Liberty could influence Mr. Duncan emotionally.

“Let Liberty enter.” Mrs. Lewis went against her son’s wishes.

It put the bodyguard in a difficult spot.

Inside the ward, Duncan anxiously tried to turn over and get out of bed.

Nevertheless, his legs were far from recovery, and he had not regained function in his legs.

He flipped himself and fell to the ground with a thud.

Derek threw away the glass he was about to drink out of and rushed to his son’s side to pick him up.

Mrs. Lewis and Charmaine made haste into the ward.

With Duncan down on the ground, the pair immediately went up and, together with Derek, hoisted Duncan back onto the bed.

“Tell Liberty to leave.

She then turned around and let the tears stream down her face.

The bodyguard did not allow Liberty into the room, but Liberty, who was shut out, could hear the commotion in the ward.

“Ms. Liberty, Mr. Duncan doesn’t wish to see you.

Please leave,” the bodyguard said.

Instead of following Duncan’s wishes and taking off like before, Liberty stood at the door and said to the bodyguard, “TI will stay here until I see Duncan.” The bodyguard was speechless.

The security detail exchanged looks.

One of the bodyguards entered the ward.

He conveyed Liberty’s message to Duncan.

Putting up with the pain, Duncan aloofly uttered, “It’s her business to stick around outside as long as she wants.”
