Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2041

“You should get out quick, Caroline. Don’t spoil Mom’s mood here. Look at how angry she is because of you. Just go out.”

Celine pretended to be nice and persuaded Caroline to leave.

She even went forward to push and urge Caroline out.

Caroline simply allowed Celine to push her out without giving an explanation and neither did she put up any resistance.

After pushing Caroline out of the office, Celine shut the office door with a bang.

She was elated.

Mom had passed a few smaller businesses and subsidiaries to Caroline to manage, and she had produced remarkable results. However, while it seemed that Caroline had full control over them, it turned out that she had been relying on other people’s help. She also presented her brothers’ efforts as her own.

If so, Celine was relieved.

So what if Caroline was Mom’s biological daughter? If she could not satisfy Mom, she would not be able to be the next matriarch.

Mom would probably hand over the position to Celine instead. After all, she had received training to be the next matriarch from a young age.

Although Celine was not as outstanding as her Mom, she was still much better than the country girl, Caroline.

Celine turned back. As she walked, she said, “Don’t be too hasty, Mom. Caroline had just been exposed to the business. It’s normal that she isn’t familiar with it yet. After all, she used to be a farmer back at her home. At most, she worked at a small factory before, earning three to five thousand dollars per month. How could she have handled big business deals?”

Madam Fisher said with resentment, “The daughters of the Fisher family have always been more capable than the guys. Why is my daughter so incompetent and useless? Even if she didn’t have prior knowledge, she should’ve learned something after working in the company for a year.

“She only knows how to steal other people’s contributions and create false impressions to make me think she’s capable.”

“Mom, give Caroline more time. Don’t scold her too much. She couldn’t even raise her head just now.”

Celine advised Madam Fisher insincerely.
