Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2065

It seemed like Serenity did not get her mother-in-law’s hint. She smiled and said, “Oh, that’s true. Anyone who meets Sonny will like him.

“Everyone at FC Manor adores Sonny too. Old Mrs. Johnson was sad when I had to bring him back.”

Serenity walked into the house while holding her mother-in-law’s arm.

Tania laughed. She said, “Old Mrs. Johnson will miss Sonny, but your nana misses the Johnson family’s baby girl. She even wished she could’ve stolen the baby girl back.”

“You’re right. Nana had her eyes fixed on Chloe once she saw her. She could sit by the crib all day and not feel bored.”

Tania grinned. “If it were me, I’d be like your nana. I won’t get bored looking at the baby all day.”

The York family, mostly made up of men, liked daughters. It was not only Grandma May who had their eyes fixed and their legs pinned whenever they saw someone else’s baby girl.

“If you’re bored at home, you can go to the city to have fun or move in with us. It’s merrier with more people around.”

Tania said, “I’ll pass. Liam and I are old. We feel comfortable staying in the manor.”

Absence made the heart grow fonder. It was better for the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law to keep a distance.

Besides, they had their own place. Their family owned many houses.

Tania would never request to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

Moreover, she still had two younger sons. If she were to live with her eldest son and daughter-in-law, her two younger sons would have to move into their brother’s house to accompany their parents as well. Even if the brothers had a close relationship and Serenity was a generous sister-in-law, it still could not compare to the comfort of living in their own house.

It was essential to learn how to keep a distance between people.

Their current arrangement was good enough.

Zachary and Serenity would come over to spend the weekend every once in a while.

When Tania’s other sons returned, they could feel the freedom of being in their own house as well.

“I just miss Sonny a lot. How’s he coping with preschool?”
