Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2149

Two days later at FC Manor in Annenburg, a private plane landed at the private airport.

Jane and Ben were waiting there.

When they saw Zachary and Serenity disembark from the plane, the couple smiled as they approached them.

Accompanying the couple on their return was Remy.

Originally, Remy wanted to come back earlier, but he could not bear to be separated from Elisa. Elisa had to go on a business trip, so she said she would rush over on the day of the 100-day-old celebration.

Knowing that Zachary and Serenity were heading to Annenburg a few days early, Remy hitched a ride on Zachary’s private plane and came back with them.

“Serenity,” Jane called out with a smile.

She then nodded toward Zachary. “Mr. Zachary, long time no see.”

Zachary responded with a smile, “Indeed, it has been a long time.”

He shook hands with Ben, and the two CEOs even embraced each other briefly before letting go. Afterward, Zachary shook hands with Jane.

Finally, Remy, who had just disembarked, intentionally shouted, “Big brother, sister-in-law, do you only see Zachary and Serenity? Don’t you see that I’m back too?”

Ben smiled and lightly punched his brother’s arm, then looked back toward the plane.

He did not see Elisa, so he asked his brother, “Where’s Ms. Stone? Weren’t you supposed to bring her back too?”

Remy helplessly said, “Elisa had a sudden business trip. She said she would try her best to come on the day of the banquet. If she couldn’t make it, she asked me to attend on her behalf.

“She prepared gifts for several children and asked me to bring them.”

She would pray that Serenity be blessed with a child soon.

Zachary told others that he and Serenity were on birth control, which would explain why Serenity had not gotten pregnant yet.

However, through her authority as an elder, Aunt Audrey had gotten the truth from Serenity, that the couple did not use any contraception at all.

Seeing that Serenity still had not gotten pregnant when their one-year anniversary was around the corner, it was almost impossible for Aunt Audrey to not get anxious.

Having married into a wealthy family for several decades, she understood well the pressure faced by a daughter-in-law in an affluent household.

Not getting pregnant six months into marriage was well expected. However, the fact that Serenity had not gotten pregnant almost one year into their marriage made her worry about her niece’s health. She was afraid that Serenity was infertile.

Regardless of how open-minded Zachary and his family members were, could they really withstand the pressure of not having an heir?
