Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2186

Grandma May was about to slap Zachary again.

Serenity quickly pulled the old lady’s hand back. “I’m not angry anymore, Nana. Please stop hitting Zachary. He’s already in his thirties. He’ll be embarrassed if you keep beating him.”

“Although Seren is protecting you and hiding your mistakes from me, I’m still giving you a warning. I won’t let you off if you don’t behave yourself.”

Zachary smiled bitterly. “I know, Nana. I’ve always behaved myself properly.”

Mrs. Lane soon returned with the sour prunes.

Serenity tore the package open eagerly and ate one. The sour taste spread in her mouth. She smiled and said, “I love this taste.”

Zachary breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Serenity enjoying the sour prunes.

After a short rest, Zachary brought Serenity to the hospital for a checkup.

Grandma May and Liberty remained in Brynfield.

Mrs. Lane continued going about her business.

Since they had nothing to do, Grandma May could finally ask Liberty about her and Duncan’s relationship.

“Has there been any progress between you and Duncan? His feelings for you are as clear as day. Mrs. Lewis won’t stop you two anymore. Give him a chance.”

Grandma May intended to stop being out and about looking for her granddaughters-in-law because she wanted to take care of Serenity.

However, once she had free time, she had the urge to play matchmaker.

She was concerned about Liberty and Duncan too. She really wanted to help Duncan.

Liberty was a nice lady as well.

Although she was divorced and had a child, they could still be happy as long as Duncan could accept it.

Their generation was different from Grandma May’s times.

“That’s why we don’t have to mind what others say.

“I hope you can give Duncan a chance. It has been difficult for him to have come so far for you. How’s his rehab going?”

Grandma May felt sorry for Duncan.

He was a fine man, yet he suddenly ended up wheelchair-bound.

Luckily, Duncan had moved on from those dark times. He had regained confidence in life.

“Mr. Lewis has been going to rehab consistently every day. He does it in the mornings due to the hot weather and then heads to my new store in the afternoons. I’ve been trying to make some new dishes I have never made before. He has become my taste-tester.”

“What about your ex-husband?”

Grandma May asked about Hank.
