“Sonny’s fine, but I don’t think it’s safe to live there anymore. Don’t be mad. The drunk man didn’t do anything to me,” Liberty comforted Duncan.
Duncan tensed his facial muscles. “He has targeted you.”
Many men would have their eyes on Liberty since she was young, single, and beautiful. Though most people were interested in Liberty, they would back off knowing that Duncan was courting her. Only the unsuspecting others, like the drunk man, would go after Liberty.
Liberty was his!
Duncan had waited so long for Liberty to accept him. The last thing he wanted was for somebody to step in and take her away from him.
“You should move, Liberty. You should do it right now. I’ll contact a moving company for you,” Duncan uttered.
If he had his way, Liberty would move out of East Hill Apartments right away.
“I told Zachary that I will buy the property off his hands, but I can’t pay in full. I don’t have a lot of available funds since I need some operating funds for my two outlets.”
“Liberty, you’re the most stubborn woman I have ever met.”
As fate would have it, she had his heart.
Duncan was a man of position and status, and he had seen many gorgeous women in his lifetime, but he was only interested in Liberty. He found her stubbornness to be endearing.
He adored her, but her stubbornness could be a force to be reckoned with.
She looked at the time and uttered, “Mr. Lewis. It’s almost time for my restaurant to open for business. I need to get going. My grand opening was just yesterday. I’ll be putting a lot of focus on my restaurant.”
Duncan was grateful that Liberty had taken the time to deliver breakfast to him.
“Go on. Reserve a table for me. I’m going to your restaurant for lunch. You might want to give me a member’s card since I’ll be your long-time patron.”
Liberty replied with a smile, “Your money's no good with me, but you can come along and try my new dishes. I’m making something new every day. You can try the food until it’s good enough to be on the menu.”
Duncan grinned. “Well, don’t mind if I do. I’ll be your lab rat and give you a fair judgment.”
He would not lie and say the food was tasty just because he loved her so that she could improve her cooking. Honesty was the best policy after all.
