Camryn said, “Carrie is my sister, but we behave like enemies... Now, the tide has turned. It’s Carrie’s turn to suffer. I have the ability to take revenge, but when I do, I don’t feel happy about it. On the contrary, I feel sad.”
Callum was aware that Paige had made Camryn’s life a living hell but Camryn rarely shared about her past. Now that she had opened up to him about her childhood, he was livid at her family and felt extremely distressed.
Seeing his fiancée’s silent tears, Callum hugged her tightly, letting her lean against him.
“Camryn, let it out. You’ll feel better after a good cry.
“Not all siblings love each other, and not all parents are caring. Some people don’t deserve to be parents. We can’t choose our parents and siblings, but we can choose to stay away from those ruthless people.”
Camryn wanted to take a tissue, but Callum quickly wiped away her tears.
She wiped her tears too. Her voice was hoarse from crying, but she regained her strength. “It’s all in the past. I survived it and avenged my father by sending his murderers to prison.
“I’m not afraid if Carrie fights me. I didn’t let her knock me down when I was blind, so I won’t lose to her now that I’ve regained my eyesight.”
Camryn sighed and fell into deep thought.
Although both of them were half-sisters, Carrie had never regarded Camryn as one, so Camryn would not treat her like one either.
No matter what Carrie planned for the future, she was prepared to counter it.
