Martin chimed in, “Your mum has me to pick her up. You don’t need to.”
“Alright, alright. We’ll each bring our own wives home.”
Once Camryn and Rosella were done with the dinner, Callum would take Camryn home and stay far away from his mother to avoid her hogging his wife all to herself.
He and his wife had just gotten married and were still in their honeymoon phase. He could not bear being apart from her even for a second and wished he could be with his wife 24/7.
Even his secretary had pointed out that after he married, the amount of networking dinners he went for had lessened greatly.
Of course, married men should put their families first and go straight home after work to spend time with their wives.
Zachary too had stopped going out to network at night as much.
“Come here, Camryn. I’ll help you put on the jewelry. Let me see if I was right.”
Rosella could not be bothered with those two overly doting men and picked up the necklace to put it on Camryn.
Camryn said, “Mom, you’ve already given me quite a few sets of jewelry and this set was from your bridal gift. It’s too valuable. I can borrow it for a night, but I can’t accept it.”
She indeed liked this set of jewelry from the moment she first set eyes on it, but this was part of her mother-in-law’s bridal gifts. It was even more valuable because it was vintage and Camryn did not feel comfortable accepting it.
All the jewelry Rosella gave her was usually newly bought and did not carry as much significance as this set.
