Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2914

Aware of his brutality, his lovers became more tactful. They were fine with him giving them money. They never dreamed of replacing his wife or having his child to get a portion of his inheritance. They would probably end up dead if that happened.

However, Mr. Longbottom still had illegitimate children.

Aside from the three sons and a daughter he had with his wife, he still had a son and a daughter—children he shared with two especially obedient lovers of his. He liked them a lot. Aside from being obedient, the ladies had done a lot for him and played a role in an important incident that occurred several years ago.

Therefore, he allowed them to carry his child. Having a child meant they would have someone to rely on in the future.

His wife was not capable of preventing all of his lovers from having children. It was all up to his will. If he wished to give his lovers a child, the child would be born without a hitch. Otherwise, Mrs. Longbottom would order her people to beat up his pregnant lovers until they miscarried.

Sometimes, it also resulted in them being barren.

Carrie nodded. She answered, “I will, Mr. Longbottom. I won’t disappoint you.”

The two bodyguards had been greatly dissatisfied with how she spoke and carried herself. She was filled with arrogance and had no self-restraint or good qualities. They commented that her parents had educated her badly and that her aura was inferior to Camryn’s.

Carrie had been a spoiled kid since she was young. Everything she had was of the best quality, whereas Camryn lived like a maid. Being told that she was inferior to Camryn angered Carrie.

She did not want to lose.

Now that Mr. Longbottom said the same thing, Carrie realized that she was far from being an acceptable missus of a wealthy family.

Although the Newmans were rich, they were considered new money compared to those wealthy families that went a long way back.
