As Jasmine mentioned, men had to be coaxed occasionally by giving them gifts or flowers. They would be in a good mood and more motivated to work when they receive presents. Ultimately, they would earn more money for their wives to stay pretty.
Camryn felt Jasmine was skilled at persuading her husband. She and Serenity had to learn a thing or two from Jasmine.
Serenity said Jasmine was simply applying what she learned from romance novels in reality.
Camryn used to love reading, but she rarely read novels and preferred classics instead. When she lost her sight, she had not even graduated from school, let alone read books.
While there were schools catered for the blind, her mom refused to send her to those schools. On the other hand, her stepfather, who was also her uncle, seemed to treat her decently. In truth, however, he could not be bothered about her life.
In the end, Camryn was unable to go to university.
When she regained her sight, Camryn wanted to start learning again. She would fulfill her dream of studying at a university.
Those plans would have to wait.
Her eyes had not fully recovered. Dr. Carden also reminded her not to strain her eyes when working. It would only hinder her recovery.
It was also not the right time to go back to studying yet. Callum would not agree to it.
“It’s okay to be late. Since Zachary didn’t call me, there aren’t any urgent matters. He and Josh are at the office. They can handle everything.”
Josh’s two-day break had ended.
He had to resume working.
Callum wished Zachary could also give him two days off work to accompany Camryn.
However, thinking about his workload, he knew his wish could never come true.
“I’ll pick you up in the evening, honey. Let’s go home together.”
“Okay. You should go now.”
Callum burst into laughter. “Of course he can move. You’re talking about fetal movement, right?”
“Yes. I felt it today.”
Josh put his hand on Callum’s shoulder and shared his joy. “I’m late because I was too absorbed in interacting with my son.”
Callum pouted. Josh was showing off about becoming a father.
Due to Camryn’s condition, Callum could not be a father anytime soon.
“How do you know it’s a son? What if it’s a daughter? You’re not biased, right?”
“Of course not. Whether it’s a son or a daughter, I’ll love them either way. A daughter will be great, but Jasmine and I think we have a son. There’s a saying that an expecting mother’s instinct is usually accurate. Well, a son is fine too. He’ll be a handful.”
Josh did not care about the baby’s gender as long as his child was healthy.
