Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3014

Uncle Zak was lying to him.

Serenity replied to Sonny, “It’s snowing there, is it? Sonny’s got pretty good luck to be able to see real snow so soon after getting there.”

“And you can even make snowmen! I’ve never made a snowman in my whole life.”

“Was breakfast yummy? Make sure to put on more layers so you don’t catch a cold, okay?”

“Your Uncle Kevin has gone on holiday and will only be back in around two weeks. If you went with him, what about your preschool?”

If Kevin knew about this exchange, he would sigh in relief that he had fortunately left quickly enough not to get clung to by a little third wheel.

After receiving a response from Serenity, Sonny video-called her.

The aunt and nephew talked for half an hour over the phone.

After they hung up, Zachary muttered, “I didn’t know until today that Sonny was so chatty that he could talk to you for half an hour straight.”

Serenity laughed. “He might be a chatterbox in the future.

“But he’ll also be a warm-hearted boy.”

A warm-hearted chatterbox…

“It’s past nine. Dad, Mom, and Nana might already be up, so we should hurry up too. Is Austin leaving for Satbury today?”

Zachary grabbed a sweater for her as he answered, “He’s leaving on Monday. He’s going to stay home to spend time with Nana these two days.”

Around ten minutes later, the couple walked downstairs hand-in-hand.

Liam was sitting alone on the sofa in the living area, reading the newspapers.

Tania, Grandma May, and Austin, who had spent the night here at Zachary’s home, were nowhere to be seen.

“Morning, Dad.”

Serenity and Zachary walked over to Liam and greeted him.

Liam looked up. Seeing the couple, he said genially, “You’re up? We saved some breakfast for you two. It’s still being kept warm. You guys should go and eat.”

Zachary turned to meet her gaze and chuckled.

They felt that Liam must have gotten jealous and was feeling neglected by his children.

“Zack, your mother, your nana, and myself are going back to Wildridge Manor around noon. Do you guys want to come with us?” Liam suddenly asked.

“So soon? Didn’t you guys say you’d be staying with us for a while?”

“Yeah, Dad. It’s rare for you guys to come here so you should stay a little longer,” Serenity chimed in.

Liam folded the newspaper back together and placed it on the coffee table. When it came to his daughter-in-law, he was a very gentle father-in-law. “We’ve been staying in the manor ever since we retired and we’re used to it. Your mother wants to go back, so we’re going back.”

Their eldest son and daughter-in-law could regain their private space.

“Tonight, your mom has to attend a banquet too. She wants to head back so she can carpool with your aunts.”

Liam revealed the main reason they were returning to Wildridge Manor.

Serenity knew of this. Tania had asked her if she wanted to go, and then changed her mind about letting Serenity go because she was afraid it would be too crowded and Serenity would get jostled.
