Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3039

Carrie said pitifully, “Didn’t I act very well? Mr. Longbottom told me to help Camryn, and I did.”

Only the Lord knew how much she wanted to cheer Sally on.

“Ms. Camryn said all that to test you.”

Carrie said, “I think so too. I feel like she’s always been suspicious of me and was testing me. Luckily, she didn’t sense anything.”

The bodyguard said coldly, “Let’s hope so.”

Although this woman was a little more tempered now that she had undergone training, her personality was long cemented and simply could not measure up to Camryn. It was hard to tell if Camryn had sensed anything by testing her.

After returning, he would tell the boss about what happened and learn his thoughts.

Half an hour after Carrie left, the three York madams and Camryn went home too.

On the way home, Rosella asked her daughter-in-law, “Is there anyone you’d like to get to know apart from Tasha?”

Camryn replied, “None, for now. It’s not easy to integrate into their circles.

“If they’re not willing to let me in, there’s no need for me to deliberately squeeze myself in either.”

There were a few socialites who were not ill-intentioned and were polite toward her, but that was it.

Camryn was not going to put deliberate effort into befriending them.

She was not familiar with them and they did not know her well either.

There would still be opportunities to interact in the future. Once they got to know one another and if they were worth it, she would befriend them.

Otherwise, they would remain acquaintances.

She did not need so many friends mingling among the high society in Wiltspoon. She would not be lonely either. Just her in-laws alone would be enough to keep her from feeling lonely.

“My friends praised you. They’re quite appreciative of you.”

Camryn smiled lightly. “As long as I didn’t embarrass you.”
