“What’s wrong, Carrie? Don’t cry. Tell me how you’re unwell.”

Trenton was shocked by Carrie’s crying.

She was temperamental, unruly, and unreasonable, but she rarely cried.

Carrie sobbed, “Do you even still care about me? I thought you only cared about Camryn.”

“Carrie, we’re siblings. How could I not care about you? Tell me what’s wrong.”

Carrie wiped her tears away and said resentfully, “Trenton, I’ve already caused so much harm to Camryn. If you still care about me, stop helping her and join hands with me to take back everything that belongs to us.

“Stop listening to Camryn. Whatever she’s told you, that our family’s assets were left to her by Uncle Abel—they’re all lies.”

Trenton was silent for a moment and he did not sound as anxious anymore when he spoke, “Carrie, what on earth has happened? What has Camryn done to you?”

Trenton did not believe Camryn would do anything to Carrie.

It was true there was no sisterly love between them, but Camryn would not take the initiative to attack Carrie.
