Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3085

Liberty found an excuse to end the call.

She then watched Duncan, who was playing with Sonny.

Everyone liked to tease her and Duncan.

Liberty walked over and sat beside the boys. She smiled at Sonny and asked, “Shall we spend the holidays with Dunc?”

Sonny replied, “Of course. Who else will he spend it with?”

Liberty was rendered speechless.

Her son had long considered Duncan as family and was accustomed to his presence.

She patted his head and looked toward Duncan. She asked, “I’ll try to be back before the city hall closes for the holidays. We can sign the papers and get our marriage license first. After your legs fully recover, we can hold a wedding. What do you think?”

Duncan refused.

“I don’t want us to get married in secret. I want to officially propose to you and hear you say yes before we get our marriage license.

“While I can walk short distances now, it’s still difficult for me to go down on one knee to propose. Give me some time. I can’t make it in time before year-end, but I’ll definitely achieve it during the first half of next year.”

Although Duncan gave his all in physiotherapy sessions, he could not move freely yet.

Liberty would have to wait.

Anyway, he would not let Liberty down.

She would have all the things everyone else had and more.

Liberty said softly, “I’m a divorcee. It’ll be my second time getting married. We can skip many procedures.”

“No. I don’t care how many times you’ve gotten married. Since you’re getting married to me, you’re the one I’m going to treasure my entire life. I won’t let you feel inferior to others.”

Duncan held Liberty’s hand and pleaded, “Please give me a few more months, okay?”

After meeting his gaze, she nodded and rested her head on his shoulder.

At that moment, Sonny gave them a quick glance before returning to playing with his toys.

Liberty snapped back to her senses and moved away from Duncan.

It was fortunate that they did not do anything excessive in front of a child. They had forgotten all about the little third-wheeler.
