Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3271

Serenity woke up at her habitual time.

“Honey, you can sleep a little longer. I’ll drop Sonny off at preschool today.” Zachary could not bear for his beloved wife to wake up early just to send Sonny to school. He wanted her to sleep in whenever it rained and got cold.

Serenity, who was about to get up, lay back down and pulled the covers back over her as she said, “The bed’s still the warmest place, after all. Okay then—you can drop Sonny off. I’ll sleep in. When you go next door to wake him, make sure he puts on a coat.”

“Sure.” Zachary pecked her on the cheek. “I’ll go wake him up now.”

Serenity kissed him in response and hummed in acknowledgment.

Zachary quickly got changed, left the room, and went to the next room. Sonny was still sleeping soundly.

Zachary had just walked up to Sonny’s bed when he heard Sonny laugh and thought he had woken up. He said, “Sonny, it’s time to get up.”

However, Sonny was just dreaming. Zachary wondered what he was dreaming about to laugh so happily. He could not bear to wake him up, seeing how cute the little boy looked. Still, Sonny had to go to preschool.

Zachary sat down on the edge of the bed and lightly patted Sonny’s face, saying gently, “Sonny? Sonny, it’s time to get up. You have to go to preschool.”

Sonny was soon woken up. He opened his eyes, looked around, and then closed them again. Turning on his side to show his back to Zachary, he mumbled, “Uncle Zak, I don’t wanna go. I wanna sleep. Please help me get the day off?”

“I wouldn’t dare do such a thing. If your Aunt Ser found out, she would scold me.” Zachary stood up to grab a change of clothes for Sonny before sitting back down on the edge of the bed and saying gently, “You just need to go for a few more days and your winter break will start. Come on. I’ll help you change. Do you want some milk?”

Zachary carried him off the bed and made him put on room slippers before letting him go to the bathroom. Sonny washed up while he was at it before coming back out.

Zachary helped him change as he said, “It’s raining, so it’ll get colder today. You should put on an extra layer.”

“It’s raining? No wonder it’s so cold. You see, Uncle Zak? It’s too cold. I can just go to preschool next time.”

Zachary chuckled as he pinched Sonny’s nose. “It’s not like it’s snowing heavily. If it does and the roads are all blocked, then you don’t have to go to preschool.”

“When will it snow heavily, then, Uncle Zak?”
