Chapter 183 I Miss You So Much
Nancy couldn’t help but miss Nicholas. It was impossible not to. Ever since he left, she had been longing for him. However, this time, she didn’t want to be the first one to admit it. She didn’t want to be the first one to say “I love you.”
Nancy looked up at him and mustered her courage to ask, “Have you missed me?”
He leaned down and kissed her forehead before holding her face and looking at her with his dark eyes. “I have. I miss you so much,” he replied firmly. “Every moment I’m awake. I’ve missed you since the moment you left.”
His voice was soft, like a whisper. Nancy’s face lit up with a sweet smile upon hearing his words.
“I’ve missed you too,” she said, wrapping her arms tightly around him.
In that moment, their hearts were connected like never before.
Since Nicholas was there, Nancy decided not to go to the hospital cafeteria for her meal. She was afraid that they would attract too much attention if they ate together there, considering how handsome he was. It was also not appropriate for them to be seen together in public because of his status.
Instead, they found a bench in the hospital gardens to have their meal. Despite the location, the delicious food he brought instantly whetted her appetite. Crab, prawn, fish, pork… Every dish he brought was her favorite.
“Wow! You’re amazing, Nicholas!” Nancy exclaimed..
Her joyful and delighted smile made him smile too.
“Eat while it’s still warm.”
“Okay.”
They talked as they ate.
While Nancy enjoyed her meal, Nicholas seemed a bit upset.
She soon noticed his sour mood and asked, “What’s wrong? You look unhappy.”
“Yes, I am,” he sighed. “I’m upset that I have to hide away. Someone refuses to be seen with me in the cafeteria.
His pitiful expression made her chuckle.
His face darkened upon seeing that, and he said in a low voice, “Meanie. How can you laugh?”
Nancy’s smile widened. She covered her mouth with her hand to stop herself from smiling and replied, “It’s not my fault, Nicholas. You only have yourself to blame.”
“I haven’t done anything”

“That may be true, but the problem is your appearance.”
Nicholas shrugged innocently.
“Your face is too handsome. Did you know that when I walked out of the lab, I overheard a group of girls talking about you? They were saying there was an incredibly attractive man who was very, very
hot.”
Nicholas’ mood significantly improved upon hearing that.
“After hearing how much they praised your looks, I would never dare bring you to the cafeteria. What if they try to steal you away? Then I’ll have no one to complain to, right?” Nancy continued.
When she put it that way, he realized he wasn’t angry anymore. Instead, he felt happy. “Are afraid someone will steal me away?” he asked with a smirk.
you really
She knew exactly how to respond to that and imitated him as she shot back, “Aren’t you afraid someone. will steal me away?”
“I am,” he replied. “That’s why I’m smart enough to be by your side the moment I return from my trip.”
“Good,” she said.
Halfway through their meal, a clear voice suddenly rang out through the air. “Nancy! I knew it was you!”
It was Toni.
Nancy turned around and asked, “Why are you here, Toni? Why aren’t you at lunch?”
“I had a big breakfast this morning, so I’m not hungry. One of my patients has been inactive lately, so I brought him with me for some exercise.”
Toni then noticed Nicholas, who was standing beside Nancy.
Her eyes widened as she swiftly asked, “Nancy, who’s this attractive man? Be honest with me. Is he your boyfriend? He’s so hot. No wonder Mr. Jadin can’t capture your attention.”
She grinned at Nancy.
Nancy hesitated for a moment. She glanced at Nicholas and then at Toni before slowly answering, “He’s not. Stop gossiping and go back to work.”
“Alright. It seems like I got excited for nothing.”
Before Toni left, she pumped her fist and whispered, “Good luck, Nancy. This man is much more handsome than Mr. Jadin. You should seize your chance.”
Once Toni was gone, silence fell.
Nancy soon realized something was wrong. There was a dark cloud hanging over Nicholas’ head.
“Nicholas…” She called out his name, but he walked away without even looking at her.

Leaving everything behind, she swiftly ran after him.
As she ran, she called out, “Wait, Nicholas!”
“Wait for me!”
Nicholas had long legs and was walking very fast, while she was still carrying their lunch. She couldn’t catch up to him at all.
Eventually, he slowed down, overwhelmed by his anger.
Finally, Nancy caught up to him.
As soon as she was close enough, she grabbed his arm and sweetly asked, “What’s wrong. Nicholas?”
He pursed his lips and remained silent.
