"No Alpha, she's human." Another voice replied. Alpha? He must be the boss. And aren't we all humans? The thing that really scared me was how my heart started to race at the sound of his voice. My mind was racing with ideas of what the owner of that voice looked like.
"Then why did you take her? She won't know anything. Daniel, I gave you one job!" The boss yelled. I froze at the sound of Daniels's name. He was coming. I covered my ears with my hands, not wanting to hear their footsteps grow torturously louder. I don't know how, but I soon fell asleep against the cold wall.
"Wake up!" I heard someone yell right before they kicked my already hurt ribs. I wheezed in pain and scrambled to my feet. Daniel was smirking while holding a pistol in his hand.
"Boss says you're my mess so I can do whatever I want." He stepped closer and I instinctively moved back.
"Then please let me go." I pleaded and took another step back. He laughed and lunged forward at my neck. Now pinned against the wall by his rough hands I tried to kick and scream but nothing came out, his hands were too tight around my neck for any noise to slip through. Then we both heard a loud bang and my heart started racing again. I wiggled out of Daniel's grip, using his distraction to my advantage, and ran out of the open door. Daniel's first mistake. I didn't dare to look behind me, I just ran as my life depended on it because it did. I hurried down the corridor for a few seconds before I collided with a hard chest.
"What-" The voice was interrupted by Daniel yanking me back. "What are you doing?" I took this as a chance to look up at the boy. My breath caught in my throat as I looked up at his face and met his eyes. My heart was racing and my palms were sweating. I had to crank my neck up because he was so tall. His clean-shaven jaw was clenched as he fought something within himself. I let my eyes wander up to his full lips and broad nose, the way his green eyes bored into mine sent shivers through my body.
"She's my mess so I'm taking care of it," Daniel smirked and pulled me back down the hallway toward my cell.
"No. No please not again." I pleaded and thrashed around in his grip.
"What were you doing to her?" The boy ran after Daniel and pulled me back towards him. He had a strange look on his face like he was trying to figure out who I was. Maybe he was.
"Just having a little fun Alpha." He grabbed my arm again and shoved me into the cell. "Why do you care?" Daniel asked, knowing "Alpha" had followed him into the room. I knew too because of my abnormal heartbeat. Daniel shoved my back into the wall and punched me in the ribs. I looked over to the other boy for help. His eyes swirled with several emotions, conflict showing the most.
"Please," I whispered, looking him right into his green eyes.
"Let. Go. Of her." He growled and pushed Daniel away, making me fall to the floor, hitting my head on the way down. My vision was starting to blur and fade again but the last thing I saw was what really terrified me. The boy was tearing Daniel's head off and throwing it across the room.
~Devina's POV~
Once I regained consciousness, for what felt like the hundredth time today I immediately sat up. This time I was on a long leather couch in what looked like an office.
"Is she going to wake up?" I heard the same boy from earlier worriedly ask. I glanced over to the door and there was a man with a white coat staring directly at me.
