"What's her name?" I ducked in a deep breath again.
"April. Her name was April."
"I-I don't understand." She finally whispered making me furrow my brows.
"Understand what Sunshine?" I took a few steps towards her and brushed a golden strand of hair out of her face. She moved back and looked away.
"I'm not-" She glanced up at the ceiling and blinked a few times. "You shouldn't be with me. I'm not good enough for this. For you. I'm just ordinary." My fists clenched as she spoke how she felt about herself.
"Devina. You're anything but ordinary. You're beautiful and so kind. God put us together for a reason. It wasn't an accident like I believe April was. This is meant to believe. I love you. I love you so much. You're my little sunshine." Both of our eyes teared up.
"I love you too." She looked back at me and crashed her lips on mine. "You're my alpha." She nipped at my earlobe.
~Devina's POV~
"Come on Zane!" I yelled from the foyer. Being this close to Zane felt incredible, but what didn't feel incredible was Zane making us late.
"I'm coming Sunshine." He stayed true to his word and came jogging down the stairs. "You look great." He grinned and kissed my lips. "Now let's go win this race." In his pack, he has enough money but he still works. Racing is his job, it may be illegal but it's just another way he gets his money and as long as he's happy and content with it, then it's fine with me. Unless he's with another girl... "Babe, you know I wouldn't do that to you." I smiled and nodded, getting into his Bugatti.
"You think you'll win today?" I casually asked as we sped down the streets.
"I always win. I won you." He winked while I just rolled my eyes. "But yes, I got a few upgrades on the transmission and engine. Don't worry, I won't put you on the line again."
"Well, it does motivate you..." I trailed off and laughed at his reaction.
"Yeah because I don't want you to be with any other guy. It bugs me." He looked through the windshield as we pulled up to the place. "Oh, this one will be easy. He has a Ferrari." We both laughed and got out of the car.
"I think I'll sit this one out," I told Zane a few minutes later as he was getting ready to race.
"What? But I want you there with me. I need to know that you're okay." I smiled and kissed his lips.
