Chapter 121
“No.”
Scarlett shook her head, the wound on the back of his head still bleeding, made her injury seem insignificant in comparison.
“It appears your injury is more severe. Let’s go to the hospital right away.”
Scarlett’s hands were stained with his blood, the vivid red reminding her of the night five years ago when he was struck by a
car.
Feeling even more guilty, she suffered heavy injuries twice in her attempt to save Dev, yet she could not understand why he was protecting her so fiercely.
“Okay”
Dev nodded at her, then, as he carried her across the banquet hall, several bodyguards spotted them and swiftly encircled. them
Feeling guilty for not having protected Dev well enough, they saw that he was badly injured and all apologized.
Dev, not caring at all, ordered them to take James to the police station and then swiftly walked to the hotel lobby.
Scarlett was naked, but fortunately Dev’s coat was large enough to wrap around her petite body.
She was still a bit uneasy, worrying that anyone who entered the hotel would spot her and she’d have to bury her face in
Dev’s arms.
As she nestled in his arms, a group of twenty or so bodyguards suddenly blocked their way, walking in from the entrance of
the hotel
Dev abruptly halted and gazed at the individual who emerged from the Lincoln Limousine at the hotel’s entrance.
The man, cloaked in a black suit and coat, was barely visible in the dim light.
He stood there like a statue, his cold and malicious gaze fixed upon the two people.
“Mr. Gatsby.”
Upon hearing that familiar voice, Scarlett’s face paled instantly.
She had no time to ponder why Sebastian was present; instead, she nestled her head further into Dev’s embrace.
She had assumed he wouldn’t be able to see her in this state, yet she was unaware that his cold gaze was fixed upon her.
Dev instantly recognized that Sebastian had arrived with malicious intent, yet he was unaware of the source of his malice.
“Mr. Jackman, what do you mean by this?”
He did not appear to have done anything to upset Sebastian, so why did he dispatch so many bodyguards to encircle them? Sebastian, striding out with his long legs, walked steadily towards the two of them. As he lowered his eyebrows, he saw Scarlett standing there, naked.
His exquisite, three–dimensional face instantly took on a malicious hue, and even his peach–blossom eyes were as cold as a sharp sword
“Give her to me.”
He held Scarlett tightly in his arms, his gaze fixed upon her, not stirring an inch.
Dev, being a man, naturally understood the meaning of that gaze.
He tightly embraced Scarlett and stepped back, his gaze filled with possessiveness.
Mr. Jackman, what is the nature of your connection with her? Why do you wish for me to give her to you?
Sebastian sneered, his indifferent peach–blossom eyes lazily sweeping over Scarlett.
“Do you want to go with him or with me?”
He refused to answer Dev’s question, offering Scarlett a choice instead.
Scarlett’s heart almost leapt out of her throat as she was stared at by those peach–blossom eyes
She had not anticipated that Sebastian had come to the hotel in search of her, though she had assumed he was there for some purpose.
