She’s Married, Sir (Scarlett and Sebastian) novel Chapter 44

Chapter 44

“Scarlett, you are…..”

Scarlett failed to realize her neck was covered in hickeys until she saw Susan’s shocked expression.

She swiftly brought her hand up to her neck and averted her gaze, embarrassed.

“I…”

“Did Mr. Forrest compel you?”

Mr. Forrest gazed at Scarlett as if she were his prey.

Yesterday, Susan wanted to remind Scarlett, but with the wedding and taking care of Cosmo’s relatives occupying her time, she had no opportunity to talk to her.

Suspecting that Scarlett had been bullied by Mr. Forrest upon seeing her return in such a manner, she was sure of it.

Scarlett, be honest with me. If he truly compelled me, I’ll go and battle him to the bitter end!

Feeling enraged at the thought of Scarlett being coerced by a despicable man, Susan rolled up her sleeves and was ready to storm into the kitchen to grab a kitchen knife.

Scarlett hastily halted Susan. “It’s not Mr. Forrest,” she declared.

“Not him? Then who?” Susan was taken aback.

Scarlett had no idea how to express such a thing.

Realizing she was about to speak, Susan suddenly comprehended.

“Have you and Sebastian reconciled again?”

Whenever Scarlett returned from visiting Sebastian, her skin was always tinted green and purple.

Susan thought it was Sebastian who had done it, for he had always been so ruthless when playing with Scarlett.

“It wasn’t him.”

Scarlett no longer wanted to deceive Susan, so she spoke honestly. “I… I spent last night with someone else.”

Susan was taken aback. She was actually with someone other than Sebastian?

She couldn’t bring herself to believe it, yet Scarlett’s embarrassed expression left her with no choice but to accept it as true.

She clasped Scarlett’s hand and inquired anxiously, “Who is it? Can we trust them?”

Seeing her worried face, Scarlett gritted her teeth and asked, “Is it trustworthy…?”

“Scarlett, are you keeping something from me?” Susan frowned.

She always had a feeling that something wasn’t right with Scarlett during this period, causing her an inexplicable unease.

However, Scarlett held her arm and shook it, “Oh, Susan, my dear sister, don’t fret. When the time is right, I’ll discuss marriage with him and bring him to meet you, alright?”

Upon hearing the word “marriage”, Susan’s tense expression softened.

“You just split from Sebastian not long ago. How did you manage to find someone to talk about marriage so quickly?”

Moreover, she had surrendered so swiftly, which was not in keeping with Scarlett’s usually compliant character.

“You know my job requires me to interact with people like this. I was with Sebastian before, so I couldn’t fall in love. Now that we’re no longer together. I’ll reach out to the right person. Don’t you want me to get married soon?”

“I do want you to tie the knot sooner rather than later…”

“So, what are you concerned about?”

Scarlett smiled, interrupting her.

“I was concerned that you might encounter someone untrustworthy”

Fearing she would be overly nagging and annoying Scarlett, Susan ceased speaking.

“Forget it. In any case, let’s make it a rule that any of your potential marriage partners must be approved by me first. We can’t be too cautious”

“No matter what, I won’t marry unless you give your consent.”

“Why wouldn’t you get married? Are you content with staying a single, old spinster?”

Susan was so anxious that her gaze was fixed in a glare.

“I was only kidding.”

Scarlett smiled sweetly, acting as if nothing had occurred.

Susan, who had been anxious for much of her life, noticed her face had regained its smile and her worries had dissipated.

Scarlett had been obedient and sensible since she rash.

young, so there was no need to worry; she would not do anything
