She had just awoken from a nightmare in which Millie appeared, wanting to take her life. 

Joanna felt uneasy and rubbed her forehead. Then, she sent a message to Winston. “Win, are you asleep?” 

Winston didn’t reply to Joanna’s text. She felt uneasy and got out of bed. She poured a glass of water, but before she could drink it, someone knocked on the door. 

Joanna turned around and asked, “Who is it?” 

She wondered if it was the nurse. Perhaps she had knocked on her door because she saw the light in her room. However, when Joanna asked, no one answered. The person just kept knocking continuously. 

Joanna frowned. She approached the door and peered through the glass. Suddenly, a woman’s face appeared. She was startled and took a few steps back. 

The door to the ward was pushed open in an instant, and suddenly, the lights went out, leaving the room in total darkness. Only a faint light from the window illuminated the space. 

As Joanna looked up, she could see the person’s face clearly. 

It was Millie! How could it be Millie? 

Joanna’s eyes widened in disbelief. Millie’s face was pale, and her hair and clothes were drenched. She looked utterly terrible. Her entire body was wet. 

As Joanna raised her hand, she realized that water was dripping from Millie’s body. 

She was shocked and stood frozen in place. She clenched her fists and heard Millie say in a hollow voice. “Joanna, return my life to me. Joanna, you hurt me so much. Joanna, why did you harm me?” 

Millie reached out and charged forward to grab Joanna by the neck. 

“No, I didn’t hurt you!” Joanna’s voice suddenly trembled, and she felt as if she couldn’t breathe. 

Millie watched Joanna, who was trembling and on the verge of tears. She couldn’t help but
