Chapter 190
Millie narrowed her eyes and moved closer, eager to hear whatever comment he had for her. Logan’s breath caught in his throat as he gazed into Millie’s approaching face. She was standing so close.
When he wanted to speak, he gazed into Millie’s stunning doe eyes. Logan couldn’t help but frown. Then, he cleared his throat. Millie’s eyes truly resembled those of Harriet’s when she was young.
As Logan lowered his voice and furrowed his brow, his rugged features looked particularly striking. He warned, “Anyway, stay away from Joanna from now on. If you have a problem with her, come at me instead.”
Logan deeply cared for Joanna. He believed that showing kindness to others‘ daughters could result in his biological sister, Louisa, being treated well by her adopted family.
If Louisa could come home, Logan would undoubtedly shower her with even more love than Joanna. He would speak to Louisa with utmost gentleness and provide her with the best the world has to offer.
“Millie, smarten up.” After that, he went into the ward. With a bang, he slammed the door shut.
Millie rolled her eyes and couldn’t help but think that it was Joanna who needed to smarten up.
Just a glance at Joanna’s expression spoke volumes. She clearly emanated guilt after undoubtedly committing wrongdoing.
Millie exited the inpatient department when Hazel called out to her. “Dr. Caldwell! Dr. Caldwell!
She looked up. “What’s up?”
Hazel rushed over, panting heavily. “Do you remember the case of domestic violence involving the couple from yesterday?”
Millie tilted her head and wondered if she was referring to the couple who went to the police station.
“The female patient was urgently brought to the emergency department due to domestic violence!” exclaimed Hazel.
Millie was slightly surprised. “Who did that to her?”
“Her husband. Who else could it be?” Hazel was speechless.
